They arrive alive and they always leave dead.

But first, they give me their confessions.

Fans of Stephen King, Joe Hill, and like to listen to books like The Bird Box or The Haunting and can't get enough stories about serial killers are going to enjoy listening to the deathbed confessions from The Asylum.

My name is Jack Steen and for those who arrive on my "death" ward at the Asylum, I'm the last face many will see before they die. I am the night nurse at the Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Most of my patients are serial killers and mass murderers and they know me as the Angel of Death. When they come onto my floor, I offer a deal: Tell me their story, the real one—the one they haven't told anyone else. Some of these killers have never confessed to their crimes, some kept certain information to themselves...those are the stories I want.

If they give them to me, I'll make their death...easier. The majority of these killers are expert manipulators. I realize they could be playing me and messing with my head. It's a chance I'm willing to take.

And now...they might just be playing with yours too.

Inside this book are 4 DeathBed Confessions:

Patient 1024 has an interesting 'appetite'.

Patient 974 is the Ken to his Barbie, and he would do anything to keep her happy.

Patient 871 is a Nanny, but not one you want watching your kids.

Patient 1203 is the sweetest, broken soul you'll ever meet but her confession is a hard listen.

WARNING: There is swearing in this book. And some stories might be a trigger for something you have a hard time handling. But, these are the confessions of serial killers, mass murderers and such, so you can't be too surprised.

Title: An enjoyable read
Review: I actually enjoyed this easy reader. Dark, yet still a bit light. Easy to follow the stories and very interesting…honestly, my only two issues:1. Poor editing. Quite a few really obvious spelling mistakes.2. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love the way of the repeat bared invite at the end of every chapter.

Title: confessions that make your heart race and your mind wonder
Review: A dark and twisted read that satisfies that guilty pleasure craving that only murder mysteries and diving into the minds of the criminally insane can satisfy. I love the way these tales were presented and will be on the hunt for more chronicles.

Title: Interesting
Review: This is a quick read that isn’t like other books. Lack of proofreading is obvious and a little distracting. I liked two of the four stories. Admittedly, I can’t stomach horrific stories involving children. I don’t plan to read any more of the books in this series, but I would give a different book from this author a try. Read it and see for yourself!

Title: INVESTED!
Review: Absolutely in love with these stories, I found myself really relating to the storyteller.. love his sense of humor or just his human approach to his job. Easy to read, maybe not exactly for the light hearted or those easily triggered by the evils of this world. But for those who aren't I highly suggest this book. I'm making my way through the series now. (There are some editing issues, but honestly who cares.. and if you do, don't get into this book).

Title: Captivating!!!
Review: Story 5/5Narration 5/5The Asylum Confession by Jack Steen is a great psychological horror story. I found the four different stories that make up this book well-written and captivating.Jack, the main character, enjoys studying the minds of criminals who are close to death. He offers them a deal: their secrets in exchange for a quick death.Jack relishes the power he has over the criminals under his care and often abuses it for our entertainment.I found all the secrets the criminals revealed to him to be poignant, violent, and grim.I highly recommend this book if, you enjoy psychological horror stories.

Review: This book was unexpectedly good! Now, I'm not as jittery about these murder stories as I probably should be, but that's mainly because I've been on a true crime roll and sadly become a little detached. But I still found these stories to bring an incredible twist to the table, in that they truly let you in on the killers' motivations, thoughts, and feelings. The style is a little unconventional, but IMHO that just adds to the stories' authenticity and overall atmosphere. Will be continuing the ACF series ASAP.

Review: Not enough depth in the characters so becomes boring. Only superficially covers the patients and their stories, just left unsatisfied

Review: Still not worked out if these are based on true stories or complete fiction but an interesting read the story of Bucket broke me, poor women!Would be interested in reading more from this author however a proof reader is needed as there’s a few silly mistakes with spelling and grammar that distract from the stories, no shame there even the best authors make mistakes that’s why they have proof readers
