Title: Great
Review: This was my FIRST review - OUR FIRST WINTER WITH THE PRODUCT. SEE my SECOND review at the end of this one .. A YEAR LATER> I purchased this product for my family's 2 family house. My parents live on the 1st floor, I live on the 2nd. During the winter we were waking up everyday to "mouse droppings" all over the stove and counter, despite these places being washed down after dinner every night with Clorox lemon wipes. Peppermint oil being put on cotton balls and wiped on the counter is another thing we tried. After doing some research and talking to the people I decided this Ultrasonic Repeller was the way to go. I sent for them in mid-January. They arrived and we plugged in 2 on each floor. I feel I have been more then patient and have given this product a fair test (2 months). While there are fewer droppings, the mice are still here and still leaving their "little gifts". The light is blinking every 4-5 secs, since we can't hear the tone it supposedly gives off (sound that mice/bugs hate), I have to assume that either it doesn't bother the mice, they don't care or they are deaf or there is no tone and it is all a con because I can tell you -- These plugged in pieces of plastic are worthless pieces of garbage. THEY DO NOT WORK!SECOND REVIEW - I left the product plugged in for the year, it wasn't in my way. I did notice fewer spiders and those awful stink bugs. But the best surprise was the winter... NOT one mouse all winter long. From talking to people who have had these critters while the product does work, but it has to be in place and operating before the mice take refuge in your home for the winter. Once they are in and have their babies while the noise to them is horrible they can't leave. Which explains when the weather got nice they moved out and as long as the pest repeller stay plugged in they don't come back. We are now on our second winter, mouse free.

Title: From a skeptic... this product works.
Review: I have toyed with the idea of ultrasonic pest repellers for decades now, yes - decades. None of them over the years have worked. I just moved back into my old house after a complete renovation and we've just been fighting the never ending problem with ants. In the kitchen (of course), in the bathroom (weird, but ok), in the shower (weirder), in the laundry room, in the hall way, in the bedrooms... ok... in every room. You can't sit or stand anywhere for more than 2 minutes before you realize something crawled up your leg or already on your neck.My parents lived there for many years and complained about ants, but since I didn't live there for many years, I didn't understand how big of a problem it was. Even the contractors complained about the massive amount of ants in the house.Well, I decided to bring back one of my old ultrasonic repellers. I plugged it in for a couple days and - the ants were still there. I took it outside, where there are a swarm of ants. Plugged it in for a couple days. The ultrasonic was/is deafening, high pitch but the ants hadn't even budged. Even my dog turned to it like, "what's that annoying thing?", but we still had ants.I bought these repellers because a reviewer actually mentioned "in 2 weeks" and another reviewer mentioned "in a couple days". Ok, this is some data you can use, not just "works great" and "didn't work for me". So I installed these (pack of 3, just to try at first) in the kitchen and in 2 of the bedrooms. The next day, yes, I still had ants, however a lot less. And yes, day 2, I basically had zero ants an any of the rooms I installed these units in. I say basically because I still have ants on the other side of the kitchen, behind the fridge. I think the ultrasonic wave is not able to get there so I will find a way to install another unit near the fridge. I did order another pack of 3, which I will install in the other rooms and fridge. These units work! It took 2 days to work. Now to comment on the physical unit itself. Yes, these things are chunky and I was hoping I could find some that fit along side the light switches or electrical outlets for a cleaner install. Please let me know if anyone knows of one and one that works. It does make a ticking noise every few seconds. I think it is bursting ultrasonic waves instead of constantly flooding, like older units. It is annoying and another reviewer mentioned "you get use to it over time". Well, these have been working for about 2 weeks and I'm still not use to it, especially at night with all the lights off. All you hear is "tick... tick... tick... tick...". Is there any other way? I don't know if ants respond to higher frequencies and maybe the ticking will go away, but I wouldn't know.Anyway, without the "clean look", I would highly recommend these units, especially for ants. I still have spiders hanging around so, no, they don't appear to work on spiders. Also, placement seems to be really important as well as giving it a couple days, since ants to travel on a trail, so even if the immediate ants respond to the product, the ants further down the trail won't know what will hit them just yet.

Title: It Works on rats and mice only
Review: I live in a slum community in South America where there are lots of pest especially large rats, spiders, roaches centipede....I was consistently purchasing rat poison to get rid of rats that would run into my apartment from outdoors but they just keep comming...not to mention i would find one or two large centipede like snake visiting my apartment from an nearby sawmill....i decided to try this product and it worked very well... i placed this product in my kitchen, doorway and sleeping area and i noticed only one small mice visit my apartment but would look a little shaky and try to run out....i suppose many who purchase this item failed to understand the principal of ultrasound..ultrasound cannot penetrate walls and objects however it is reflected or rebound from objects.. therefore if u want this device in a area where there a lots of obstacles then rats can still lurk nearby because the sound is not reaching their ears. so placement is a great factor for effectiveness...i forgot to mention too a large one feet rat visit my home and hid in the corner of my wall (as usual) but it suddenly ran out upon hearing the sound..i cannot say whether this device works on getting centipede out but i will update my review upon further analysis. To conclude, DON'T EXPECT THIS DEVICE TO KILL PEST OR STOP PEST REPRODUCTION IT IS ONLY INTENDED TO REPEL THEM.UPDATE 2013.12.11The devices works prefect for mice and rats but not spiders...i have a spider building its nest right in front of this device..wish i can take a picture and post it..however my main problems were mice and rats and i am glad that it solve my problem. However, this led me to the conclusion that the ultrasound sound given out from the devices is specifically designed to repel rats and mice only.UPDATE 2013.12.15The Devices does not have any effects on mosquitoes. i place one of the device on my wall in open air next to my bed..i noticed a couple of mosquitoes lurking on my bed netting. hope this helps those who are experiencing a mosquito infestation.
