MOVING IN STEREO: THE BEST OF THE CARS is a collection produced by the band, with all surviving members contributing to song selection. Ric Ocasek also supervised digital remastering of all the audio with Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound. The collection features the band's big hits along with a rare, single mix for "I'm Not The One," as well as a live version of "Everything You Say," and a new mix by producer Philippe Zdar of "Sad Song," a track from the band's last album, 2011's Move Like This.

Title: Almost perfect -- one glaring omission (well not really)
Review: This is the final Cars compilation, and can be seen as a revision of their 1985 multiplatinum "Greatest Hits" album. First the bad news: two songs from Greatest Hits aren't here: Magic and Good Times Roll. I don't personally care for Good Times Roll, and while Magic is certainly catchy I don't really miss it here (I happen to love the Heartbeat City album so if I want to hear Magic I'll just listen to that--I can't really imagine someone who loves Magic but not the rest of that record). In exchange for those two missing songs you get Don't Tell Me No, Candy-O, You're All I've Got Tonight, Moving In Stereo, Dangerous Type, Sad Song (Remix), and Everything You Say (Live). Dangerous Type is my favorite Cars song, and honestly I think I prefer all of these other songs to Magic--which is just to say they are all good. I am so happy this contains Tonight She Comes which was only released on Greatest Hits. The only song I *really* miss here is You Are The Girl--perhaps Ric's reflection on the band breaking up at the time of that single/video made the memory too unpleasant to include it. Or maybe it was unlucky because it was the Cars' 13th and final Top 40 hit (and Casey Kasem would never introduce another Cars song on his show). Maybe it was the death knell to the 80s. Anyway I love that song if only because the was the first video I remember seeing on MTV when it aired and I thought they were so goofy and awesome. The art is great and non-problematic. Unlike some of the folks at Steve Hoffman forums, I don't think Ric messed up the remastering here, while there might be a bit less DR I think things sound clearer than the originals. Finally it is clear lot of care went into arranging the songs on the vinyl so that there are four distinct sonic experiences across the two discs, and even before receiving the vinyl package I know I'll be listening to them a lot over the rest of my life.UPDATE: After listening to this compilation many times I will concede that "Everything You Say (Live)" is a much better song than 'You Are The Girl', getting an entirely new recording is special, and that snapshot of the live band performing before their breakup and Orr's death is just lovely. Ben completely invokes Elvis and owns his performance, and the recording is top notch. I can't imagine a better homage from Ric to Ben than in including this song.

Title: Great Cd !!
Review: I really miss Ben I used to see him all the time at the Paridise in Boston where I first saw them live and they would also hang out there when other bands were playing ,and listening to to the song Drive really hurts me bad but I love that song and I also miss Ben.

Review: Great mix of tracks that were actually compiled by Ric Ocasek and the other members of the Cars, but there are a few missing, including 'Magic'. Why this track was overlooked baffles me - it was huge back in the day. You really couldn't turn on your TV or the radio without hearing this song a billion times a day. Nevertheless, it is a great album - older and newer fans will love it. I guarantee it!One thing I don't like is the packaging on this - it's actually pretty horrible and not practical at all. The cardboard sleeves are very tight, making it nearly impossible to get the CD or booklet out. Whoever came up with this bright idea clearly didn't use their brain. Really awful design choice.

Review: 「Just What I Needed」「Since You're Gone」と続く1、2目は奇しくも「Greatest Hits」と全く同じ。
