For traditional, wafer thin Scandinavian cone cookies or for Italian pizzelles. Can be used on gas, electric and ceramic stoves. Recipes and wooden rolling cone included. Use: 1. Grease insides of plates with butter or oil. Preheat iron over medium heat on both sides, until water sprinkled on surface sizzles. Spoon 1-2 tsp of batter in center of plate. 2. Close iron and gently squeeze handles together. Cook 5-10 seconds. Turn iron over and cook opposite side for 5-10 seconds. Cookie is done when it looks golden brown. 3. Remove cookie from iron with spatula and roll, using wooden cone (included) to form. Remove from cone and cool on a rack. For pizzelles, cool flat on cooling grid after removing from iron. Care: 1. Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water. 2. Brush plates with butter or oil prior to use. 3. Always use oven mitts when handling a hot krumkake iron, as handles will become extremely hot with use. We recommend wearing oven mitts or latex food handling gloves during rolling process (step 3).

Title: Easy to use item
Review: This Nordic Ware Krumkake Iron looks vintage and authentic. It is a good tool for making very nice thin krumkakes. I tried it with the recipe it came with and the krumkakes turned out nice and thin. I used the wooden instrument it also came with to shape them into little cones and filled them with vanilla bean whipped cream. Very nice and easy dessert to make. Next time I will also try different flavorings in the crepe and filling. Maybe lemon? Chocolate? I used mine on a gas stove and didn’t have a problem with it overheating or burning the krumkakes. I also did not have a problem with them being too thick as mine felt very thin and somewhat crispy.

Title: Simple tool for wonderful cookies
Review: I am not a krumkake master, and this was not something I grew up with. But it is a fun and simple way to make an impressive dessert, and this iron does a fine job facilitating that. The biggest cons I've found are: 1) the entire iron gets VERY hot while cooking, so take care. It is easy to collect burns when you are cooking, lifting cookies off, or rolling them; and 2) the patterns do not emboss, but instead just toast onto the outside of the cookie. This means if your cookie gets too dark or the iron too hot, the pattern will not show up. I know that sounds a bit like saying, "when you burn stuff it tastes bad." But the line here is very fine (depending on how much energy your stove puts out, and how hot the iron gets). If there was some way for the temperature of the relief to be significantly lower than the temperature of the iron, it would help. Or if the pattern were not so fine.Small complaint for a product that consistently turns out great and tasty cookies that wow guests and are fun for the kids to help make.

Title: Just learned about this gadget on Food Network
Review: This was so fun to use(once I got the hang of it) I made ice cream cones and they turned out amazing. I used a different ice cream cone recipe because the recipe that came with the box didn’t work for me. Also it took a while to reach the correct temperature to use on the stove. Burned a few and some came out light.

Title: Hot
Review: It works well. I tried it on a ceramic cooktop andI was surprised at how hot it got. So, be really careful touching it cause EVERYTHING is hot. It slides around on the ceramic top so be aware at all times that it is hot. I knew this and absent-mindedly went to move it once and that'll be the last time I do that. It makes great treats just be careful.

Title: Love my new Krumkake iron
Review: The Nordicware krumkake iron on the left was the one I inherited from my great grandmother. I used it every year with her recipe and they always turned out great. Last year it finally fell apart after more than 80 years of use. I ordered the new Nordicware iron last week and today I made a batch. They turned out beautifully and I am so pleased. No electric irons for me. This iron, Grandna Anna’s recipe and my gas stove are all I need to make delicious treats for the holidays. Great buy!!

Title: GREAT ITEM!
Review: I used to make Krumkake... to replace my old one that I can't find! Put it away for safe keeping - to never be seen again....…!? It works great but don't use the stick that came with to roll them as I roll them into ice cream cone shape! I've never looked into what else can be made on it, but I imagine other items...…...

Title: Do not think twice
Review: If you are looking into buying this, then please go ahead and make the purchase. You will not regret it. I followed the recipe card included in the box. It just came out perfect.... 1tsp and 7 seconds per side worked for me.

Review: Easy to use, just grab a stool and sit by the stove as you flip and roll each krumkake. I used an old family recipe (added water, not milk, to make them crisper), though there is a recipe included. Don't forget the cardamom!
