This WaterSentinel refrigerator water filter contains a compressed carbon block which provides tremendous capacity to remove and/or reduce impurities and sediment that may be present in your drinking water. The carbon block has millions of active sites on its surface and within the structure which can absorb impurities like a sponge, and can adsorb and hold other types of impurities on its surface like a magnet. Additionally, this filter can catalytically breakdown other impurities very similar to the way a catalytic converter works in your automobile. These processes ensure that you are getting the cleanest and best tasting water possible. This economical filter will provide you with fresh and clean tasting water and ice cubes.
Get the best crystal clear drinking water; NSF 42, 53, 372 certified to remove chlorine and other contaminants. WQA Gold Seal Certified.

Title: Water tastes great!
Review: I have bought several of these water filters and they work great, no leaking and the water tastes great. The packaging has changed, they are coming in a flimsy white box with no writing or images but they seem to be fine. Best of all, they are manufactured in the good olâ USA!

Title: Works perfect
Review: I'm using this in a GE-SmartWater plumbed fridge. It expects a GE MWF filter, which I've dutibly purchased, 2/yr for many years. Well, the list price of those filters recently has been rising lately, and this filter is an incredible value. As far as I can tell from the various other reviews, it's filter-ratings/guarantees are fine for me (I'm on a relatively new branch of a good/safe city water supply). There's a definite taste improvement, similar to the MWF filters. I didn't have to fiddle with anything to plug it in. It comes with a cute little sticker-set that makes it easy to mark the install/replace dates (I've always used a sharpie to mark the MWF filters). Water taste is definitely improved over straight tap water. The only bummer is amazon won't let you order these on a subscription basis yet! (every 6 mos, come-on, do it!).

Title: Good filter, but needs a lot of flushing
Review: The filter fit perfectly and at 1/2 the price of the GE one it is a great deal.My only problem with it is you need to flush at least 2 gallons (12 - 24oz cups) of water thru it to get all the plastic taste out of it. The water was very cloudy for the first 5 minutes of flushing. The directions stated 5 minutes and it needed more than 10 minutes before the water started to taste good. The previous GE filters only needed 2 minutes to remove the plastic taste (3 - 24oz cups).Pro"s: Inexpensive and fits perfectly, water taste is good only after much flushing.Con's: It needs 2-3 times the amount of flushing that the instructions state, to get the plastic taste out of the water.

Title: Nice clean water
Review: Nice clean water from the refrig, no taste. And made in the USA! I refuse to let anything in my body if it is made in China.

Title: Works Great
Review: I've got a GE side-by-side fridge that we bought in 2010. GSF25 model. My filter did not come with any additional rings or seals outside of the O-Ring that sat on top of the filter (some people mentioned they had to use additional included seals to get this to work properly). Installation was simply: Turn old filter 1/4 to the left, pop it off (a small amount of water may squirt out). Line up the new filter, turn it 1/4 turn to the right. Popped right in and sealed perfectly. Not a drop of water dripped. Filled up a large cup about 20x to get the air out and clean out the filter. Perhaps the people that are having problems have older models? At almost 50% of the Amazon price for the genuine GE filter, this seems great. The water tasted nice too, like bottled water.

Title: Great!!!!
Review: 1) Half the cost of the brand names. 2) Does the same job. 3) Made in the USA. Pretty much all that needs to be said. I've read some of the other reviews about this product, and for those who complained this filter doesn't stop various contaminates and organisms, I would submit the following: This product is meant to go in a fridge. Not be backpacked into the Amazon Basin. In a fridge. A fridge in the United Staes or some other developed nation. Not a fridge in equatorial Africa. A fridge in an American home where the water, straight out of the kitchen tap, is clean and safe to drink BEFORE it ever reaches the afore-mentioned fridge's water filter. How many citizens of the United States, Canada, Japan, Western Europe, etc ever catch horrid diseases from their kitchen fridge's water dispenser? If you have to be concerned about catching Cholera from your tap water, then you probably wasted your money buying a fridge with an icemaker/water dispenser in the first place. I mean, you have a lot bigger problems to address with your economic resources. Anyway. It takes the chlorine taste out of my water, and it is WAY cheaper than the almost criminally over-priced OEM that GE sells.

Review: Works good. So far, it seems to as good a job as the GE brand. Will be excellent if it meets or exceeds the interval that the OE one does.
