Title: In this modern age of digital TV, old-fashioned rabbit ears come to the rescue!
Review: I haven't had cable TV since the '80s. We've gotten by using TiVo's, over-the-air broadcast, and in the last few years we've added in streaming. The only issue has been some of the stations we receive in the Sacramento area either come in poorly or not at all. My niece lives here in town as well, and due to price increases she's cancelling her cable other than for Internet use. I was setting up an indoor antenna for her TV and found that her area seems to have the same problem stations we have, farther south where we live. Curious about this issue I did research and found the two problem stations we both had issues with chose to continue broadcasting their signals on the VHF band of TV frequencies when TV went "digital," while every other broadcaster in our area (and there are a lot!) moved their signals into the UHF band. To make a long story short: The majority of indoor TV antennas, whether "boosted" or not, have been designed to pick up and concentrate on the UHF band. That leaves signals on the VHF band somewhat left out with those antennas. The answer, it seems, is that good-old-fashioned "rabbit ears" TV antennas are making a comeback. Of course that's only if stations in your area are still broadcasting on the VHF band. Why would stations choose to stay on the older VHF band? Well, I found the answer is "cost." VHF equipment is much less expensive to buy, operate and maintain. That's why our local PBS station is using it, as well as the local ABC affiliate (apparently having been bought buy Disney didn't mean a pay raise). I also found that the VHF band carries signal farther and needs less energy to broadcast to do so. Why didn't all the broadcasters continue on VHF? Who knows. What's important is to get both bands to come in well, you really need two types of antennas, basically one for each band. Although, I admit I'm only using one antenna on our big living room TV, and believe it or don't, that is an old "RCA" brand of rabbit ears! it works great! In my den I needed a boosted antenna for the UHF band and had to add this Phillips rabbit ears model to get all of the stations. It works really well, and the price was great! Highly recommended! What was once old is new, again!

Title: Amazing
Review: I can't believe these little babies pull in stations from so far away and do as good or better than my expensive antennas. I have paid much more money for much larger antennas and while they did work, I could have just bought one of these little things for much less money. I have replaced all the big ugly ones with these.

Title: works great but cumbersome if NOT table top
Review: don't forget to re-scan channels! WHAT I DO NOT CARE FOR is that I have to have mine right up on the window to get reception around my walls - there's no open space towards that side where they have the antennas broadcasting. It is important thing, that the signal have a clear path because it is NOT coming from the satellite, it is a transmission from a mountain at least here where I live. So walls interrupt the transmission. The black panel things stuck on the window do not work effectively, this does, but I wish I could hang it from the curtain rod easier - that big base makes it hard to do anything but sit on a table. Longer cord would help too.

Title: Good signal, but a bit cheap.
Review: The old saying is that you get what you pay for. I bought this mostly just to see if something like this could work in my area and well, it does. I must've adjusted one side of the telescopic dipoles a little too much after 20mins, though. One side is wonky and it looks almost like it could break if I try to adjust it too much more. I would get a different antenna, personally, but this is...fine, I guess. The back of the antenna has its own crumby cable that can't be swapped out. It's made to just go into the TV the moment you get it. I wanted to use an RG6 coaxial cable directly plugged into its back, but nope. It should have a detachable cable for the back, but it doesn't, and that's frustrating. If you want it far from the TV, which you need sometimes, you need to buy coaxial cable adapters to attach another longer cable. Depends on whether you want to deal with that or not.

Review: Love this, our camper has its own antenna but I bought this one for home. We’re in the city so we get lots of channels on this one and it was so easy to set up. I bought a more expensive one and threw it away because it was a pain to set up.

Title: Old-school solution that works decently with a booster
Review: It's pretty decent at pulling in signal; but may still need a signal booster added to pull in the full amount of channels it can receive; currently using a USB one from HIDB, but others should be fine. Functionally, the antenna does a good job of hiding behind the TV; though for best reception, you want to raise it as high as possible. It'd be nice to be able to wall mount it in some situations.

Appreciate how easy it is to fold up and get out of the way when we're not using it.Your results will vary depending on your distance from the broadcast towers, but this is plenty for people that can see the mountains and can face north!
