From the author of Once Upon a Sunset and The Key to Happily Ever After comes a heartwarming and moving novel following three Army wives—estranged friends—who must overcome their differences when one of them is desperate for help.
Regina Castro, Adelaide Wilson-Chang, and Sophie Walden usedto be best friends. As Army wives at Fort East, they bonded during their book club and soon became inseparable. But when an unimaginable betrayal happened amongst the group, the friendship abruptly ended, and they haven’t spoken since.
That’s why, eight years later, Regina and Sophie are shocked when they get a call for help from Adelaide. Adelaide’s husband is stationed abroad, and without any friends or family near her new home of Alexandria, Virginia, she has no one to help take care of her young daughter when she has to undergo emergency surgery. For the sake of an innocent child, Regina and Sophie reluctantly put their differences aside to help an old friend.
As the three women reunite, they must overcome past hurts and see if there’s any future for their friendship. Featuring Tif Marcelo’s signature “enchanting prose” (Amy E. Reichert, author of The Coincidence of Coconut Cake) and the books that brought them together in the first place, In a Book Club Far Away honors the immense power of female friendship and how love can defy time, distance, and all old wounds.

Title: Fun summer read
Review: A little predictable in parts, but still a fun read. Adelaide, Sophia, and Regina have been friends along time since they met as Army wives. Separated by a misunderstanding years ago, an SOS brings them together once again.

Title: Fluffy, easy read
Review: I oscillate between 2 and 3 stars for this one, because if you like sweet, fluffy, low conflict books then this is great. If I had picked it up to read on the beach or in an airplane, I might have truly loved it. But I read it at home in the middle of the week and while I wanted to feel a connection to the characters and truly love this book, I just didnât.Thatâs not to say itâs not fine, because it is. Itâs just fine. The drama is resolved quickly (although it could have been settled even more quickly had the three main characters-Adelaide, Regina, and Sophie-all communicated with each other from the start), the love interests are understanding and perfect, everything is wrapped up nicely in a neat little bow. But I like my stories to have some angst and grit and not feel quite so fluffy. And since I am not a military spouse myself, I sometimes found it hard to connect with a lot of the experiences of the women in the book. Iâm thankful for that because with reading I want to broaden my horizons and get different perspectives, but at times it felt like this was a book written by a military spouse for other military spouses. Again, thatâs perfectly fine, it was just a theme really hammered home that kind of took me out of it.If you like fluff, if you like when a conversation that lasts a few sentences clears up years of misunderstanding and repressed feelings, if you like super sweet happy endings, then this is a great read for you!

Title: Excellent book
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I enjoyed the plot and how the author had a chapter dedicated to the main characters. In addition, I appreciated the timeline and how the author went back and forth between the present and the past. This was excellent. I look forwarded to reading other books by the author.

Title: Contains spoilers
Review: CONTAINS SPOILERSI wanted to like this book but one of the friends is intensely unlikable with how she treats her friends and the book focuses on her romance rather than her honestly trying to rekindle a friendship. I honestly think that all 3 of these women shouldn't really be friends with each other. One of them watched a friend be HATED for years for something they didn't do and another friend is super inconsiderate and focuses on herself a lot of the time. Honestly Sophie deserves better friends

Title: Great read!
Review: In a Book Club Far Away by Tif Marcelo tells the story of three army spouses that embark on a friendship while at a book club. This trio has had a lot of ups and downs in their ten year friendship. While some friendships in the group have been stronger than others, they all come together ten years after meeting to help a friend with an SOS while her husband is deployed. Will Regina, Sophia, and Adelaideâs friendship stand the test of time? Or, will the physical absence because of relocation have a toll? What is not to love about a book about a book club!?!? This book was filled with all the emotions that are involved with being an army spouse. It also shows how friendships can be formed and grow in the most unexpected place with people who are totally different from one another. I love the female bonding that took place in this book as well as all the background story lines that made me fall in love with these three characters. I wanted to be friends with all of them, because despite their weaknesses there is so much strength and resilience within each of them.
