Fold and fire aerodynamic paper airplanes dozens of feet into the air with this easy origami kit.
High-Performance Paper Airplanes presents a collection of realistic origami paper airplanes from well-known author and paper aviation expert Andrew Dewar. Dewar has spent decades perfecting the art of folding easy paper airplanes that both look great and fly well. This new series takes paper airplanes to new heights—literally! The planes can be fired high into the air with a rubber band launcher and are designed to circle down for a long time. The airplane designs are also printed in full-color on both sides and precut, so you just need to push them out and assemble them using a bit of glue. Although fun for folders of any age, these paper plane designs are so uncomplicated that they can be considered "origami-for-kids" projects and are a great way to learn origami.
The origami airplanes range from simple designs that can be construct in under a minute to detailed scale replicas that look and fly like the real thing. The included instructional origami book not only explains how to assemble each plane, but how to fine-tune it to coax the best performance. Helpful tips for hosting competitions with your friends and suggestions for designing your own origami airplane models are also included.

Title: High performance and high design
Review: There are tons of paper airplane books out there, mostly variations on the tired old schoolhouse folded variety we all grew up making. This is not one of those. These planes look like real planes with fully three dimensional shapes. The Corsair and the Zero are especially cool. They are structurally sound and capable of flying high and fast and crashing into the ground without disintegrating. Yes they are still paper but cleverly doubled for stiffness in the right areas. All are based on historic aircraft with a nice background writeup. The paper is pre die cut so no tedious scissor cuts. Bought another set for a friend. Just get it. A bit on the small side, and most of them end up too nose heavy, so I would advise leaving of a bit of the nose ballast or during the build, you can always add more noise weight later but it's hard to remove excess. The first couple models are a bit simplistic, but easy to make for someone just starting out. Just a couple of staples and you're done. Other than that, easily the neatest paper planes you'll ever build. Love to see another follow up with more advanced designs like those fighters.

Title: The planes really fly if you're outside and use the catapult
Review: My ten year old boy had a great time making the planes. Each one takes about fifteen minutes. The paper is pre-cut so you punch out the pieces and the instructions are clear. We flew the planes indoors with not very good results. Using the catapult outside they are amazing. They fly for 5-10 seconds if you get the right speed and angle of attack. My boy was ecstatic with the results and I was really surprised. Congratulations to the author.

Title: So much detail!
Review: My son (6yo) had a great time building these models with his dad after becoming obsessed with planes at an air show. They have built 3 so far, and I am really impressed with the quality and realism. Really, Dad built them. There are a lot of tiny pieces and I think it would be challenging for a child to build alone. My son loves flying them and the planes have held up well to repeated crashes. The albacore plane required us to launch an extensive search mission, it flew so high and so far.

Title: Best for older kids/adults
Review: This was a fun kit but not exactly what we were expecting. It was too complicated for my 10 y/o to build, as there were tiny pieces and required a good amount of accuracy and a steady hand, but we had fun flying them as a family. I would recommend to expect adults or teens to build the planes, all ages can fly.

Title: The product comes in a fine box, with a booklet
Review: The product comes in a fine box, with a booklet, a rubber band and a small stick. Up to now I assembled only two models(Hornet and Tiger), and I launched the Hornet model only. I am amazed at how it performed. When I launched it by hand (not using the launcher) it was nothing that I didn't expect. But when I used the launcher, oh boy!, what a difference. I had a wonderful quality time with my granddaughter (she's only 5yo), we had lots of fun, and there's more to come when we get together once again to assemble and fly the planes.
