DAVID ALAN LOMAS was born in Thornaby on Tees ,in the now County of Cleveland, less than a mile from the home of Pat Barker famous novelist of such renown titles as the Ghost Road. David spent almost 30years in the merchant navy, joining as a 16 year old entrant at the T.S. Vindicatrix and retiring as a ship’s captain in 1993,in between he came ashore to marry and joined the Green Howards territorial army for nearly 5 years ,returning to the navy in 1975 after his divorce ,after his retirement from the navy he bought into the auction house trade in Middlesbrough, eventually moving to Spain to build houses ,.David lives in semi-retirement in the sleepy village of Campillos ,nestled between Malaga and Antequera with some of his children.
