A Netflix Original series!

The first book in the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling series, with over 7 million copies in print!

"Terrifyingly fun! Delivers big thrills and even bigger laughs."--Jeff Kinney, author of the #1New York TimesbestsellerDiary of a Wimpy Kid

Ever since the monster apocalypse hit town, average thirteen year old Jack Sullivan has been living in his tree house, which he's armed to the teeth with catapults and a moat, not to mention video games and an endless supply of Oreos and Mountain Dew scavenged from abandoned stores. But Jack alone is no match for the hordes of Zombies and Winged Wretches and Vine Thingies, and especially not for the eerily intelligent monster known only as Blarg. So Jack builds a team: his dorky best friend, Quint; the reformed middle school bully, Dirk; Jack's loyal pet monster, Rover; and the fiercest girl Jack knows, June. With their help, Jack is going to slay Blarg, achieve the ultimate Feat of Apocalyptic Success, and be average no longer! Can he do it?

Told in a mixture of text and black-and-white illustration, this is the perfect series for any kid who's ever dreamed of starring in their own comic book or video game.

Title: 7-year old approved
Review: I have been hunting for a book that would help my son fall in love with reading. I’ve strikes out, until now. I bought this book knowing it may be too advanced for my son to read completely on his own, so I was aware it might be more of a read-aloud then a read-alone. But what I really wanted was for him to fall in love with the written word. And this knocked it out of the ballpark. Out! All the way out. We started the book yesterday and finished it in less than 24 hours. He was begging me to read him more, and now he’s begging for the next book.I am so excited to see how excited he is about reading now. I’m finding the story very fun to read, it’s entertaining and funny and sweet at times. I have a good feeling he’s going to be reading this series (eventually entirely on his own one day) for years to come. Every kid should have a memory of that series that made you want to stay up all night reading with a flashlight. Mine was Emily of Blue Moon, and it looks like my son’s is going to be The Last Kids on Earth.Bravo Max for creating a book approved by both a 7-year old boy and his 41-year old mom!

Title: but this might be the best book in the universe for my dyslexic
Review: Thirteen-year-old Jack Sullivan is a foster child who is surviving the monster apocalypse without adult help. He lives in a tree-house, plays video games and defeats monsters. We haven't finished the book yet, but this might be the best book in the universe for my dyslexic, zombie crazed, video-game-loving eight year old son. We gave it to him as a birthday gift along with Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare for the X-Box One. He BEGS me to read to him from it every day. I read him 2 chapters per day and it's not enough. He talks about the characters as though they are real people. After I read it to him this first time, my plan it to have him read it to me. It is very engaging for him and has a lot of pictures to support the text. I am a second grade teacher and would say that this book is appropriate for most third or fourth grade students who read at grade level, or older students. It would be a challenging read for most second graders and some third graders. If you're sensitive to language like "stupid" being used in a children's book, you may cringe a little sometimes. The language, though, is not too bad and in my opinion well worth it considering how engaging the book is for my reluctant reader. I would recommend this book.

Title: My grandson loves this book series!
Review: My grandson, who is 7, loves this series. I bought the first book and if he continues to read them I will get more. However, my book came damaged, not so much that I'm going to return, but I was disappointed the hardcover was bent and creased.

Title: he would love this as well
Review: I saw the sequel to this book posted on facebook and immediately ordered it for my son who loves to read. He is obsessed with DoaWK so I knew since the writer of that book commented on TLKoE, he would love this as well. Anyway, once I commented on the post the author sent me a message and said he'd like to send my son a signed sticker for each book. Such perfect timing since my little one was just about to turn 9 and these were part of his birthday presents! My son read the first book in TWO DAYS! He absolutely loved it! I was trying to hold on to the 2nd book but once the signed stickers arrived, I couldn't pass up the chance to surprise my son with not only the book, but the stickers as well! I've attached some photos here for you to see just how much my son loved the book. The first photo is him receiving the sequel and the next couple of photos are of him realizing he now has autographed stickers for each book! Max Brallier has written a great series and has fabulous communication with his fan base! we are definitely looking forward to the future books in this series coming out!

Title: Fantastic series
Review: This is a fantastic series, I have listened to them and read them, and my sons (15 and 11) love them. I bought this one for a gift for a "sub for Santa" because I am pretty certain any boy would think these are great! The pictures are super fun, and the story is great even on its own (on audiobook). Better than the "Wimpy Kid" series in my opinion, although my sons would probably rate them pretty equally.
