Review: If you love words as much as I do, you're really going to enjoy Other-Wordly. It is filled with words from not only English but other languages and cultures to expand your vocabulary and to make you realize that, yes, there is a word for that. Like "komorebi", the Japanese word for the sunlight that filters through the leaves of the trees, or "tartle", a Scots word that means to hesitate while introducing or meeting someone because you've forgotten their name.Now that I think of it, this is the type of beautifully illustrated little book that would make the perfect gift for other language lovers. My only greedy little complaint? It's too short!

Title: Really interesting book!
Review: If you love uncommon or obscure words, you will enjoy this book... the only thing I didn't like about it was they didn't include pronunciations. Other than that, it was great and the illustrations were lovely as well!

Title: For anyone who loves language
Review: I find language to be intriguing, so this book, to me, was quite delightful. So many of the featured words, (in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Bantu, etc.) bring more meaning to feelings or instances I find hard to describe or never thought to describe in the first place. Also, as certain words are more seldom spoken in practice, they start to slip from our minds and are almost lost to time (which is a bit of a shame), so itâs nice to see a book shining a light on a few words that might otherwise fade away. I might have given this 4 1/2 stars if I could because I would have appreciated the addition of a phonetic pronunciation for each word as a great many are from languages around the world and I am baffled as to how to pronounce âcwtchâ (Welsh) aloud. However, all in all, I think âOther-wordlyâ is a perfect addition to my personal library and look forward to improving and expanding my vocabulary.
