Title: A well performing product.
Review: I've been using this particular model for years and finally had to replace it. I purchased the identical model because, in comparison to other brands of hand held vacuums I've owned, this one is superior. The machine is powerful and the battery long lasting. I prefer the handy saucer-type charger, because it's easier than plugging the machine in and provides greater flexibility in terms of placement. I also like that, while quite powerful, this Dustbuster is pretty light/streamlined, easy to handle--not a cumbersome "clunker"! I highly recommend it.

Title: Works Just Great
Review: I bought this and have used it now for 2 months. Upon opening, I followed the instructions to the letter--thus when it arrived I charged it completely for about 24 hours. I then used it for about a total of 20-25 minutes until it wouldn't work and charged it again overnight. This is to set up the battery correctly and is a common battery operated charging regimen. Follow it and you likely eliminate future problems and the experience of saying it loses charge quick. The suction is strong. I'm not sure what people are expecting but it's a hand held vacuum. I've used them since the original dust buster, dirt devil etc. etc. This one will pick up sawdust, hair, dust, spilled flour, rice, sand. It did an ok job in the car. There is a tool for nooks and crannies. That thing extends out of the main nozzle. It helped for harder to reach spaces. There is a flip down brush type thing that worked ok on book shelves and furniture. Proper dusting is done with a rag and pledge or somesort of concoction anyway. It does not have a charging light. Just sort of figure that when you charge it, you probably have left it for a few hours before using it again. If you're using it as a light duty hand held--you picked up a spill, found something to clean for a few minutes, then likely it'll charge back to full quickly. If you used it for 10-15 minutes, figure a few hours on the charger will bring it back up to par for the next use. I don't need a charging light for that but I suppose it would have been nice. Worst case scenario is it ran out of battery--well then I just charge it without use overnight. Voila. It has a wall hanging unit. The charger is not built into the wall hanging unit. I just mounted the hanging unit close enough that with the plug in the outlet, it reaches---common sense. It comes apart easily--used the manual to understand how to empty it routinely. Used the manual how to understand how to take it a step further, pop out the filter and give the filter a good clean or even a rinse under water (let it dry fully if you do that--common sense). The waste container is clear. I can see when it's nearing full and empty it at that point as it works best (as does ANY vacuum) when it's not full.I did have the experience of hanging it up once or twice 1/2 full and a few pieces of sand or something fell straight down from the wall hanger. Now i just hold the unit over a bin for a minute tap with my hand to insure that doesn't happen but generally when I empty the unit (which is just about every time) I make sure the intake care doesn't have any strays. Some folks talk about the unit (and other units) being noisy. Some customers ask about noise. Come on. It's a hand held vacuum--it's in the category of blenders, leaf blowers and vacuums. It makes noise and again that's common sense. They don't call it the Dust Buster Whisper. That said it's not at leaf blower level or blender level or plug in vacuum level. I just wouldn't use it when your baby is napping or a loved one is on a conference call.I'd say for the money this is a solid household use dust buster and it's improved in over 25 years. I'll check back in a year if it somehow dies after a year but for now it's working fine and as designed and I picked it because of the power specs. I disregarded some reviews on a hunch that they hadn't charged it up properly . I do not expect this to go more than 15-20 minutes or so. If I have that much hand held vacuuming to do, it maybe that I need to use the regular vacuum. That all said, i can pretty much do a 30 X 30 room for spot stuff, the kitchen nooks and crannies, the bathroom, the window sills in a single charge--for spot cleaning, tidy up.

Title: Staying with black & decker
Review: I purchased the basic Dustbuster 6 years ago and the lithium battery is dying. After checking out the cheaper china knock offs and seeing they have 1/2 the volts, I am staying with B&D. I love that the tools are attached instead of going into a box and getting forgotten. I also didn’t have to change my wall attachment for this model.

Title: I always buy Black & Decker.
Review: Bought this Black and Decker hand vac to replace the old one I had. Love the dependability and the performance. All I have to do is empty the canister and occasionally replace the filters when they outlive their use...but that's not very often. Very pleased with the performance and will buy again.

Title: Did not work for me.
Review: There is not a prefilter and I tried to use this to clean up parakeet down feathers, seed hulls and frayed fibers from seagrass toys. But, without a prefilter, the feathers, hulls and fiber matted onto the filter reducing the pull of the vacuum while I was working. I don't know if the dusting brush sets the vacuum nozzle too far from the surface or if the filter was clogged or what, but it didn't pick up light dust if I used it for dusting in the middle of a job. Also, the wide plug interfers with putting another plug on either side when using a power strip. There isn't a charging or power remaining light, so if I want to use it more than once a day, I don't know if it is charged or how much charge is left. Someone mentioned a loud motor for the unit. The sound did not bother me. to me. It is easy to take apart and rinse everything off. But for what I need it for, it does not work.

Review: I was a bit sceptical at first. The hand vac did not look powerful enough. Then I charged it and gave it a try. Well I was and am surprised at the suction this has. I had to flip down the brush so it would not suck up the cloth on my computer repair desk. Also left the brush down for cleaning the fans and outside of vents it dug out the hair and heavens knows what else was coming out the holes. I used the canned of compressed air inside the computer and held the hand vac over the flying debris. It just worked like a charmThe wife is using it for tracked in dust she sweeps in a pile on the floor and it cleans up with out leaving a line at the dust pan or having to bring out the vacuum hose which is 35 feet of built in vacuum hose wrestling this snake is the thing of the past for quick pickups. The small rug at the front door usually has grass or something in it and she uses the brush to get most of the stuff until it is time for the carpet brush.clean up is easy we rotate the body to unclick it for removal and dump the dirt compartment. It unclicks easier and so she decided to do the floor trim using the brush and rotated, just great and quick and is not scratching the walls like the big vacuum dragging it along. She found out the unit's snout extends. Well it is being used every day. I got it for her as a thanks wife gift as I am not into flowers. Now I think I will have to get one for ,my self I need it to do another computer clean and it is outside cleaning up the van. This unit is more handy then a pocket in your shirt.

Review: I had kind of low expectations for this vacuum considering its amazon, and its pretty low on the price scale. We kind of just expected it would "get the job done for now but would eventually be replaced"However... We have had this thing for well over a year now and this little vacuum has been holding its own as our tool for the entire house. Its suction is... okay, its good enough. Only time I could ask for more is when cleaning fur off the couch, you have to do a couple passes to get everything. But overall considering how compact this little dude is its the perfect fit for someone who wants to clean messes up without lugging a giant heavy vacuum around. We also keep it hung up on the dock and plugged in whenever not in use. Only for extremely large tasks like vacuuming the ENTIRE apartment when we were moving out did its battery actually die, but thats not a normally realistic scenario. For just general house use and cleaning as you go, more than good enough.PS: It's also a very good way to deal with spiders.

Review: To date NO replies from Amazon or the supplier. This is a major safety issue. The product supplied had a charger for 120v and USA flat pin connection. If used in the UK plus an adaptor it will catch fire.

Review: UPDATE: After about 2 years of use the batteries no longer hold a charge though the vacuum still works perfectly. I found out that the batteries are not replaceable so now I’m furious - I have to throw a perfectly good vacuum that just needs a new battery! These vacuums are basically built to be disposable after 2 years. This seems like a very irresponsible way of doing business in this day and age. Instead of adding to our plastic pollution problem, why not sell replacement batteries and parts? I would like to keep this vacuum for years to come, but apparently that wasn’t Black and Decker’s plan. Damn disappointed. This is a fabulous little vacuum. I leave it always plugged in and I’ve never used it long enough for the battery to die. It works great and is fairly easy to clean out, though the shape of the inside makes some areas harder to clean. The suction is very good too.
