Title: best chopin minute waltz interpretation
Review: I believe the original edition of this disc dates from 1984. This recording of Pierre Entremont represents, if I should dare say something that risks sounding self-centered, the best interpretation of Chopin's Minute Waltz, Polonaise in A flat and Fantasie Impromptu. Of the zillions of recordings of these I like this interpretation best. I lost my original CD that has been in the family for over 20 years. I spent many hours looking for it until the thought came to me that if I wanted to I could buy ten used copies of it on Amazon instantly for about $5 including shipping. When I was ten years old I spent many hours trying to copy Entremont's interpretation of Minute Waltz when I played it on the piano. I just could not do it. I have no idea how he got those nuances in playing it.

Title: Pictures in Chopin
Review: I purchased this CD after much searching on the Internet for this excellent product. I originally purchased the LP many years ago and had it burnt to a CD. Unfortunately, the CD was very scratchy, so I was thrilled to see this wonderful CD of Chopin's Greatest Hits with the same recording as my very old LP. The product is in excellent condition, the delivery was very prompt and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the seller. Wonderful music, enjoyable listening!

Title: Excellent
Review: Excellent re-mastered recording. A friend gave me a cassette several years ago which I lost. Haven't been able to replace it until now. Just as wonderful as I remember.

Title: Get it for the orchestral transcriptions
Review: When I was new to classical music, this collection was among my first purchases, and my introduction to the ideal "poet in music" Frederic Chopin. From there, I purchased Chopin's two piano concertos (performed by Arthur Rubinstein and the CSO), Chopin's Waltzes (also Rubinstein), My Favorite Chopin (Van Cliburn), Waltzes and Nocturnes (Vladimir Ashkenazy) and so on. Eventually, I dispensed with Chopin's Greatest Hits mainly because it was on vinyl, after I had switched to Compact Disc. Fast-forward 30s years, and I discovered that I missed a number of these recordings from "Chopin: Greatest Hits" that were available nowhere else. I'm referring to the orchestral transcriptions by Arthur Harris, and performed by the likes of Eugene Ormandy and Andre Kostelanetz, with the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York Philharmonic respectively. These performances are big-hearted and richly romantic, and are the reason to purchase this CD, as I have once again, these many years later, after having purchased the same music on LP. B- sound. Four stars.
