Title: Husband loved it
Review: My husband and I love watching British shows. I got this book for him last Christmas and he loved it. He would read excerpts aloud and we would discuss. Two thumbs up!

Title: Fantastic Reference Tool!
Review: I can't stop looking up things in this book - it's become my new addiction (my old addiction being British television). I've seen many of the shows written about in the book, but with all the great trivia and links to other similar programs, I am finding a whole new appreciation for each show. And of course, I've been discovering new things to add to my watchlist. A number of shows have been featured in whole or in part on my PBS station, but now I have a much fuller context for them, and I just discovered that a lot of shows are also available on Amazon Prime Video (no, this isn't meant to be a shameless plug) so I am able to gain an understanding of them as I decide what to watch. The index at the back of the book has been SO useful! All the cross-references seem to have been meticulously prepared. So, thank you especially for that! I highly recommend this great reference book to all you other British telly fans out there, no matter which side of the pond you happen to be on. Brilliant!

Title: Practical Fun
Review: I love this book! Most of the TV I watch is BBC stuff provided by PBS. Thanks to this book, I'll be able to find my own fare and get it from my local library to enjoy at my own convenience.Included is a straightforward table of contents, handy appendices, and an index (helpful, as the text mentions a lot of shows and people, including writers). After reading American author Sarah Cords's cordial synopses of shows I've already enjoyed, I am then referred to other shows with similar themes. Bingeworthy British Television has just the right amount of trivia, and Brit Jackie Bailey's viewing suggestions add a unique and useful perspective. Nice gift for anglophiles, great resource for anyone who enjoys PBS more than regular American TV.

Title: Useful and Entertaining
Review: Great book for reading or for reference! The book is laid out by genres, has a listing of shows by genre, and has a detailed index. The first thing you will do is look up all your favorite old shows, learning a lot of surprising things about them quickly, while recalling some of their best moments. For me, my favorite shows go back 40 years and more, All Creatures Great and Small, The Young Ones, and Father Ted. Father Ted is the funniest show of all time. I have high hopes that this book will lead me to some other gems along the line of Father Ted or Fawlty Towers, using the author's recommendations on what to binge on next.

Title: As much fun as actually watching telly.
Review: I thought I loved British TV, but my passion is lukewarm compared to the white-hot fervor of Sarah Cords. She is a super-fan, a telly-phile, a font of wisdom, and her watcher's delight and her devotion to the subject is what makes this book such a pleasure to read.I haven't seen half the shows that Ms. Cords has included in this encyclopedia of British television humor, drama, and culture. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading about them simply to be in the company of the author, who is funny and wry, and sensitive and observant of what makes British TV so worthy of our affection and enthusiasm. If you like TV, if you like British TV, you need this book.

Title: FOR THE ANGLOPHILE IN YOUR LIFE!
Review: I very much enjoyed reading through "Bingeworthy British Television" and ticking off the shows I was familiar with and those I might like to investigate. The only omission I found surprising was Cracker staring Robbie Coltrane. This would be the perfect gift for the anglophile in your life or great as a nice reference book to keep on your shelf for the next time you are looking for something good to watch/binge.

Review: Americans love the most quintessentially British TV. And this is it. From an American viewpoint. No Doctor Who, Avengers, Jonathan Creek, Blakes Seven, Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, etc.
