Title: Great way to hold twine
Review: My old twine came in a little plastic bag. That wasn't so good because if my hands got dirty, so did the twine.With this holder, the twine stays clean and easily feeds to you as you need it. Others complained about getting the twine in the top hole, but it was easy for me to do. You just have to thread it through.When I received this, the first thing I did was make a stuffed pork roast. Pictured is the roast just before cooking - and you can see the twine wrapped nicely around the roast. It was rolled in fennel seed and paprika after stuffing, hence the twine's color. The twine is actually ivory color. The second picture shows the roast cooked and cut open after removing the twine. The twine was easy to remove.I am very happy with this twine holder. It looks nice in my kitchen and keeps my twine handy and clean. Highly recommended!

Title: perfect trinket for my sewing basket
Review: I wish I had purchased 2. It is attractive enough to go on the kitchen counter. I know the twine has to be extracted from the center, but there was the other end right there that I couldn't resist. lol so I tore off the plastic and tried to get it to unroll inside the holder. Well folks that does not work, so I wrapped it back around, put a piece of tape on that end and got out my trusty crochet hook. It didn't take much fishing around to find the other end. Once pulled through it works like charm. I use the twine to make drawstrings for pants I am making or to replace ones that need it. A single crochet back and forth is probably all you would need on this twine since it is so nice and sturdy If you are going to use it to replace drawstrings remember to leave plenty of "tail Tie that to the existing drawstring before you pull the other out. Also great for those thin tubes straps waistbands etc we all make. I attach one end with a pin and sew the seam with the twine inside, being careful not to stitch through it.. It makes turning the tubes so easy. If you are going to encase elastic-- stitch it to the twine and pull it through as you remove the twine to flip it inside out. You have to go slow the first 4 or 5 inches but once it starts it goes very smooth. It would be nice if this came in colors, I am going to try red permanent marker for a pair of jammies I am making for the holidays. I will update if it doesn't work.

Title: Looks good - works good!
Review: The holder is great and exactly as described. The cotton ball of string that comes with it is initially too large to unravel inside the holder. As you use string and the ball reduces in size it works great. Not a big complaint but something you want to be aware of.

Title: Pull the string from the CENTER of the ball
Review: I am very pleased with this. I read the negative comments and considered them before I ordered it.Yes, the ball of twine fits snugly in the holder. If you feed the loose end from the outside of the ball through the hole, the twine will not feed well.Just use tweezers or a small hook to find the OTHER end, which is usually invisible but easily found in the open hollow core of the ball. Feed this end through the hole and it pulls just fine. unwinding inside the ball while the ball stays stable in the holder.The lid WAS snug, as others have said, and I could not easily have just pulled it off, but by twisting the lid and pulling, I broke the air lock and the lid came off easily.I like that the container takes no more space than a ball of twine and is much easier to use and will stay much cleaner than a loose ball. SO nice when tying up a large roast to pull out new string and not worry about soiling the ball with meat juices.

Title: Perfect!
Review: A perfect place to keep cotton cooking twine. I always tried to keep it in the bag I purchased it in but over time the bag gets yucky and makes one question the twine. This holder does NOT cut the twine and I’m cool with that.

Title: How Can You go Wrong?
Review: Simple and beautiful. I smoke a lot of meats and truss a lot of chickens, so I did get tired of seeking out my butcher's twine in a drawer, unwinding what I needed, and so forth. This is definitely no-fuss, no mess, and aesthetically very pleasing. Also it is stainless steel, solid, and washes easily if contaminated with nearby raw meat juices and the like. All of this along with the amazing price, makes it a sure thing for me. I'd not hesitate to purchase more of these to use as gifts for friends who enjoy cooking.

Title: Attractive and useful
Review: It has a plain, brushed nickel finish that is attractive and sits on my counter top nicely. There are no labels on it, which I like in particular. While it doesn’t have a cutting device like some of the others I looked at, the string comes out of the top and it’s easy enough to just grab a pair of scissors out of the kitchen drawer and snip off the length I want. I’ve found that the cutting device on many of these things don’t work very well and are more trouble than they’re worth. i am very happy with this purchase.
