Review: I bought this book because it has so many 5 star reviews. So now, having used the book, I reread some of the reviews and realised most reviewers had probably not yet used the book, they just compliment the pictures and say it arrived on time. But that is not a review of a book! Be warned if you buy this book that there are no instructions or even tips on how to make the dough (kind of a basic must-have for a pastry cookbook). For example, the "Perfect Pie Crust" recipe has an ingredients list and then simply just says add the 'lard' (I don't cook with lard because it's not the 1950's!) to the flour and mix. That's it. No instructions on how to work the dough, no tips on how to incorporate the fat (I used butter, in this book there is not one all-butter pie crust recipe, just one for lard or veg shortening). No tips on rolling, for example how thick to roll the pie crust for baking. Just mix the flour with the fat. I found that I had to resort to finding something on the internet to help me with instructions on how to mix the dough so I don't mess it, up and the how to roll the dough again so I get it right. The whole reason for the book was so I don't have to use some lame internet recipe. Oh well. I'm not thrilled at all with this book. Don't recommend.
