Title: Looks Promising
Review: I purchased this for my son to have some easy recipes for slow cooking while I undergo major surgery/recovery. He LOVES it and that is saying something from a non-cook like him. I am impressed with the variety of recipes and truly how easy they are.

Title: Recipes sound good, but be aware...
Review: I confess I haven't made any of these recipes yet, but most of them sound really good, and I intend to make several. That said, do not expect the finished dish to look like the photos. While reading the book I noticed small differences between a recipe's ingredients and/or preparation methods and the dish as shown in its photo. Some showed an obviously oven-browned product which never came from a standard slow cooker. Others showed ingredients not mentioned in the recipe, even in the notes. Still other pictures were missing foods specifically listed. So I checked the book's photo credits (at the end of the book in the ebook edition) and found all photographs were sourced from stock images outlets. While there is nothing wrong with using these stock images, we as readers do have the expectation that photos are of the ~actual~ dish prepared as described by the recipe. Just bear in mind that your finished product will probably not look much like the picture in the book (mine never do anyway, even when the picture IS of the actual dish, so this won't be much different for me, lol!).My other complaint is the non-standard description of some ingredients (which varied from recipe to recipe). While it's fine to simply list "turmeric" (which is generally only used dried ground in the US), the author needs to specifically define what she means by "garlic" or "ginger" (which can be used in either fresh or dried forms, as well as minced, crushed, or grated if used fresh, and granulated, powdered, or minced when used dry) and other similar situations where cooks have multiple forms of an ingredient to choose from (there is a big difference between a teaspoon of fresh rosemary and a teaspoon of dried ground rosemary!).Despite my criticisms, I liked the recipes and intend to make some of them. I did check out this book from my public library (as an ebook), but if I end up liking the recipes I use, I'll definitely purchase a copy for myself!A note about my rating scale:1 star = F2 stars = D3 stars = C4 stars = B5 stars = ASo a 3 star rating is still an acceptable rating, despite the common expectation that anything less than 5 stars is a Fail (would these be the same people who would loudly complain if we went to a simple thumbs-up/thumbs-down "scale"?).

Title: Makes a great gift for noncooks in your life . . .
Review: I bought one for me, since I hate to cook, but gave it to an old friend who recently lost his wife of 62 years. I also gave him a crockpot and had groceries for 7 meals delivered to him. He now can cook like a pro!

Title: A Great Gift Idea!
Review: I bought this for an upcoming bridal shower, but ended up keeping it for myself & ordering a second copy. No really fancy recipes, but no-fuss, easy-to-make meals that are useful for busy people. The bride-to-be was very pleased, especially since one of her wedding presents was a slow cooker!

Title: A Cookbook That Should Come With Every Crockpot or Slow Cooker
Review: This cookbook is a life saver!! Love the fact that you can just collect the ingredients, dump it all in the crockpot and magic is waiting when you get back home! What wonderful smells have awaited me. I have not had any epic fails yet. A few that were not exactly to my liking in spice or taste but no failures. An awesome book to have on any kitchen shelf.
