Title: gorgeous, quick Belgian waffles; pop out plates- easy for making other foods
Review: I am super pleased with this waffle making machine. I spent a lot of time looking at a variety of waffle makers. I wanted to get one for my husband as he sometimes wants waffles. I am not usually a fan of waffles, but I found that I do like Belgian style. So, when I began looking for a waffle maker for him, I made sure it could make the thicker Belgian style that I like. There are so many waffle makers out there and the reviews are all over the place. I went from thinking I could get something for less than $20 to taking a peek at the offerings in the hundreds. I looked so hard and so long that I was considering giving up. At some point in my mission, I found this Cuisinart waffle maker. I have always liked this brand, and I was kinda keen on the features such as:Removable platesUse beyond making waffles, additional plates (swap out two waffle plates for a flat and a flat/round for eggs, sausage patties, sandwiches)Belgian waffle style plates with deep crevicesThe product description video helped me to see how it works, which influenced my ultimate buying decision.Basically its a breakfast station! My primary interest was waffle making, so even the lure of added functionality didn't completely sell me at first. I continued to read all the reviews- again, all mixed like every other out there- and abandoned this for awhile to continue my search.I circled back around to this because, once again, I have been pleased with anything I have by Cuisinart. I liked the overall look of this, and that it appeared to be easy to store. I also decided I liked the additional plates, and I liked that there is no need to do any flipping or rotating of the machine. It cost more ($72) than I originally set out for, but everything about this unit- if it worked- seemed to be worth it. We love "breakfast" anytime, so i knew it would be used not only for waffles but for pancakes, eggs, and sausage patties. In addition, I started looking at recipes that go beyond breakfast foods that use a waffle maker, and this size and style seemed conducive to trying out all sorts of neat recipes. SOLD!Now, as to how it did.1st-- how the waffles turn out is greatly determined by the cook. My husband makes perfect Belgium waffles each and every time. ME? they turn out.. ok. I am so glad I wasn't the only one to test this out, as I would have thought that the machine was at fault. NOPE- me. I swear I do all the things he does, but every single time his turn out better. EVEN SO, mine still look good.It has a few heat settings, just take a look at the manual for additional guidance. I don't think they take long to make. We made several in short time. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Waffles were evenly cooked, and always just turn out well. We use Krusteaz brand Belgian Waffle mix every time- not sure if that makes a difference or not.The plates pop out for easy washing, if need be (I usually just wipe with a damp cloth). I can store the unit in an upright position or resting flat. It doesn't take up much room in my cupboard, which is great. Compact- just a square. Nothing sticking out, making it weird. If you like appliances on your counter, this is pleasant to look at.Usually when we do waffles, we aren't doing pancakes. Usually when I do pancakes, I am used to using another style of pan, BUT, this is really nice as it heats up quickly, doesn't stick, and is just fun to use one unit. The round section is for batter, eggs, etc, then the top flat portion presses down. It is still being used primarily for waffles, but I am very pleased with this waffle maker. Especially when my husband makes waffles. The more we use the more I am pleased with this purchase. 5 stars at this time. If I learn anything new- good or bad- I will be back to update.

Title: The most civilized way to make pancakes.
Review: When our old Belgian waffle maker (the round kind) died, I wasnât too keen on replacing it because, well, it was such a pain to use/clean/store that I barely used it to begin with. But then I started to realize how much I was spending monthly on frozen waffles for my kids and decided to invest in a new waffle maker. My kids vacillate between waffles and pancakes most days, and Iâve resorted to the frozen variety out of convenience, but also because frankly I suck at making pancakes. Cooking pancakes on the stovetop is literally a 20-30 minute anxiety attack. I always burn them, they come out all different shapes/sizes, the kitchen fills up with smoke, and I go through way too much butter to keep the griddle greased. Not to mention the mess afterwards.Enter Cuisinart. Iâm a huge Cuisinart fan. Their appliances have never let me down. I own their blender/food processor, toaster/convection oven, bread maker, stick blender, and the list goes on. Everything works well, and everything is easy to use. So when I saw yet another magical combo kitchen appliance from them, I knew it was the one. There is no learning curve to using this appliance. With a cacophony of toddlers in my general vicinity, I was able to make a batch of waffles with ease day 1. The kids loved them. Day 2 was pancake day, and as you can see from the video, IMHO, the Cuisinart Breakfast Central is the most civilized way to make pancakes. No smoke, no mess, no stress. Indeed, it was so enjoyable that I made 4 batches so that I had leftovers to freeze for the week. I whistled a happy tune all the while, basking in the anxiety free breakfast experience. My favorite feature, however, is that the PLATES COME OUT AND ARE DISHWASHER SAFE. Game. Changer. I can actually clean the appliance properly after use, instead of just kind of wiping it down and hoping nothing grows in there when it goes back into storage. I havenât put the plates in the dishwasher since theyâre so easy to clean, but itâs nice to know that I can. The entire outside seems to be non-stickish as well, so that when batter overflows (which sometimes it does), it wipes clean with ease. The Breakfast Central also comes with recipes included, which youâll actually want to make (sweet and savory waffles, infused maple syrup recipes, and unique pancake recipes). Iâm always impressed with the recipes Cuisinart includes with their appliances, and this is no exception.Other pros:1. Itâs surprisingly lightweight.2. The handle stays nice and cool no matter how long I use the appliance.3. The non-stick surface is excellent; absolutely nothing gets left behind.4. There is only one control knobâsuper simple to use.5. It cooks fast!I am beyond thrilled with this appliance and look forward to using it for years to come. Thank you, Cuisinart, for helping me to master cooking pancakes after all these years!

Title: Perfect for Liège waffles
Review: Several years ago I tried making Liège waffles in my run-of-the-mill $20 waffle maker. It didn't get hot enough to melt the pearl sugar, so I ended up with waffles filled with crunchy chunks of sugar. A couple of months ago, I finally decided to treat myself to a pricier waffle maker that could get hot enough to properly make Liège waffles. The reviews for this waffle maker were promising, so I pulled the trigger. I'm so glad I did! Setting 3 (or just under it) was perfect for Liège waffles! The sugar crystallized both outside and inside the waffles and made them sweet and crispy. Perfection. My husband said it was easy to clean, and I love that it comes with waffle plates and flat grill plates and that they're super easy to remove/switch out. It's also nice that you can easily fit a waffle in each quadrant, so you're not stuck there forever making one waffle at a time. So far, I haven't found anything not to love about this waffle maker. It's sturdy, hot, and easy to use (insert self-deprecating joke here), and still cheaper than a lot of other waffle makers. Easily recommend.

Review: Happy with this purchase. Have used it several times, works well, compact (easy to store), easy to clean. Great waffles. I only use as much batter as recommended in the directions so have not had a problem with batter overflow. Level 3 does the best job for our tastes.
