Title: A great value if you need 11x17 in a small space
Review: This is a great printer so far. I love that it has a footprint that is barely bigger than your average entry level inkjet but it will do 11x17. I am excited to do some large photo prints on this bad boy. I had no idea that the screen and the paper tray were motorized.I geeked out a bit when the screen pivoted up and the tray extended. Setup was easy and I have had no issues with wireless printing or scanning from windows or android. Do yourself a favor and spend the $10-15 for a ream of premium bright white inkjet paper. I did my first couple prints on $3 multipurpose copy paper and the ink absorbed in and was faded and blah. On the premium paper it's bright and laser sharp. I can't wait to see what it will do on proper matte or gloss photo paper, especially once I get the profiles dialed in. The feed tray is a little small and the per page speed isn't anything to brag about but this isn't intended to be a volume printer so I don't feel like that's a minus. The ink is dye and not pigment like on the high end HP printers but on Epson photo paper they say it is fast-drying, moisture resistant and 70 years color-fast. I remember old photo prints would get sticky against glass in a frame or fade quickly but this seems like it should have lasting quality up to the level of my needs.Very pleased so far.Update for 2021: I still love this printer. The scanner works very well. I haven't had any real issues with connectivity or jamming or anything. Photo prints look excellent if you use Epson photo paper. I tried some leftover glossy photo paper from 2 other brands and the results were poor. The Epson papers work flawlessly, though. My only complaint is that the cartridges are a bit spendy and don't seem to last very long.

Title: Great Printer!
Review: This is the last iteration of the Epson series XP-900 printers. My XP-960 have been wonderful performers for years. One apparently needs a maintenance box replaced, but to get me back in business, I ordered the 970. The image quality is still extremely good and the mechanics appear to be exactly the same as the 960. The display is a little different and I like it less than the one on the 960, where things like closing the paper tray were front and center. A small complaint. This seems to be on the same solid chassis and I expect it to last many years. Good printer.

Title: As advertised, very pleased.
Review: I did a lot of research before I bought this printer, including all the reviews and I am glad I did, So far it has performed as Epson said it would.I am not a pro, this is for home use, but I do print a fair amount of photos, documents, and greeting cards, and in my opinion the quality is great. There were a lot of negative comments about set up and connectivity, this is my experience.I unboxed it very carefully and followed the instructions to the letter, set up was a snap, I did go old school with a USB connection, and again I did the software download as instructed, total time about 45 minutes.I then test printed a photo, a document, a greeting card, and did a bed scan and print, I have not done any fine tuning yet and the results are much better than my Canon Mx922.The next day I got an update notice from Epson and downloaded it, so the software is functioning correctly.I have compared print quality with previously printed items and the Epson quality is far above what I compared it with.I did find XL ink packs are hard to find, so I ordered direct from Epson, competitive price and fast delivery. As to functioning, it is fast, and quiet, compared to other printers I have had. One thing I noticed that may cause concern at first is that the first time you do a task, such as a photo or greeting card, it does take awhile to print, but after that it is very fast, I think it is the software interfacing with the PC program. I have now done all of my programs and the print is fast and great quality.I hope my comments are helpful.

Title: Hard Pass!!!
Review: This printer was great the first few times I used it. The typical letter size paper has no issues. I use 4x6 mailing labels often and it has a hard time printing those straight. It feeds them slightly angled every time and prints off the edges, so Iâve learned scale them down to fit with the angle. The 11x17 printing is a huge pain!! I do a lot of this for work, primary reason for purchasing this model was for the larger sheet size. You have to load one sheet at a time from the back! It takes hours to print a small sheet set.The ink is terrible! It dries on the head within days! Then you have to clean the heads at least 3 times to get them to work again. This uses 1/3 of your ink cartridge! And you canât do just one color, you have to do them all! So you go through a ton of ink in a very short time! The printing quality isnât great, it skips area of the page, colors arenât quite right, and slight blur on even the highest resolution photos. Also, when I change the paper size it takes several restarts of them printer for it to recognize on my phone or laptop that there is a new paper size loaded.Terrible machine! Donât buy!

Title: Print quality excellent. Mechanics and interface finicky.
Review: I purchased this printer for my art and photography. The output for this purpose is outstanding. However, actually using the printer is not the best...finicky operations of several types. This is not an issue for my purposes and I highly recommend it for art prints. I would not purchase this as a general printer for lots of text, etc., and it does eat expensive ink quickly.

Review: Needed a printer that could do 11x17 or larger for proofs to replace an irritating HP, and looked around for a couple months at options. Photography people kept saying 'Epson' but I was more familiar with Canon or HP. So I was suspicious. I'm a suspicious kinda guy.Saw this on sale on Amazon, and figured for the price, I may as well give it a try.I am very impressed with this. They even have linux drivers! I'm a Unix/Linux guy, and hate having to boot up a windows or mac box to have to print anything. So this was great. The printer is a bit cantankerous to set up. Takes forever to warm up ink cartridges on install, took 3 firmware updates, and the paper trays are just... well... poorly thought out. But... I didn't get it to store paper. I got it to print. The print quality is an amazing upgrade for me. No banding, no oversaturation, no smudging or bleeding... With a lustre paper, the prints are indistinguishable from photo prints. Best of all, with the right monitor setup, the colors you see on the screen are the colors you get in the print.I have a high end setup. 30 bit color monitors and quadro video cards, so your mileage may vary. But if you have the right setup, you can get matched colors on prints without messing around and experimenting with tons of ICC profiles. Also I LOVE the true borderless printing. Best I have used. Some people complain about having to manually feed the 11x17 paper in, and yeah, that's a pain if you want to do a lot of prints at a time, but honestly, for the cost of ink... if I am going to be doing enough that becomes an issue, I am just gonna go to a real print shop. Seems silly to do a bulk run on a studio printer.Ink useage is reasonable compared to Canon or HP, which are just bloody ink hogs. I've done quite a few full color image prints and the ink levels are only down about 5%. The cartridges may seem pricey, but if you've been stuck with the horror of HP for the last few years, these are cheap in comparison. So, for proofs, references, or one off specialty printing, at the price, I am quite impressed.

Review: The Epson Experience XP - 960 is the most featured filled printer I have ever owned with great printing, scaning & copying quality for your money. This printer boasts a max printing resolution of 5760x1440 dpi, scanning resolutionat 4800 dpi, which is one of the best in the $250-$300 price point. The printer can print on a variety of different types and sizes of paper up to 11x17. The scanner has loads of feature such as duplex colour copy/scan,border sizing, background & size adjustment, binded copies, fold-able scanner lid for holding originals in place & more. The printer has Epson's six colour Claria ink but prints photos a bit on the pink side though, which you can adjust yourself (I also don't have the latest firmware). There are also alot of creative features you can take advantage of that I have not tested, like editing photos right on the printer(via sd card), make colouring books, print on CDs/DVDs and more. It can print via sd car, USB, Eithernet, WPS, or through your easy to set up home network connection. the ink cartridges are small so heavy printing (epson277ink) will run you through some cartridges. Printing speed for text and duplex printing is decent and prints resonably quick for coloured photos. Claims to print 4x6 photos in 11 sec, which was around the same for me when. Printing 5x7 photos on gloss photo paper. Lastly I love the printer's large, very responsive touch screen. Which automatically folds and unfolds upon use and still has a stardy build, especially compared the Canons Pixima in the same price group. I recommend the Epson XP 960 to anyone looking to print pro looking photos at home with great overall all-in-one printing capabilities, packed with loads of features.

Review: A very polished machine. Largish but not as bulky as you would think given it can handle up to A3 paper. Not the fastest printer but quality of text and photos is excellent. Wireless connection works well and not too difficult to set up. Premium features like the touchscreen and self opening / retracting output tray give it some wow factor too. Super happy with this.
Customers say
