Title: Good pamphlet
Review: Sometimes gardening books are hard for me to consider good when they just don't work for me, primarily because I live in the desert. Overall, this book gives good information on asparagus. I finally learned what the little red berries are...Don't eat them! I like these little booklets and have purchased quite a few of them. Why? Because for the most part, they provide me with new information that I can try and evaluate myself to see if they work for me or not. I recommend you give this book (pamphlet) a try, especially for the price.

Title: Very handy 32 page pamphlet from the Storey's Country Wisdom bulletin series..
Review: It's a bit old (1981) but full of useful information. The series can be a little hit or miss--I'm looking for more than a 20+ year old pamphlet on things like raising chickens, but for a topic like growing asparagus, it's a nice format. The Table of Contents:1. Introduction2. What Asparagus Likes Best <<-------growing conditions3. Starting Plants4. Making the Permanent Asparagus Bed5. Insects and Diseases6. Harvesting7. What If the Bed is Not Producing Well?8. Preserving Asparagus9. Suppliers<<---------- the pamphlet was written in 1981, yet the suppliers listed all have websites....I'm sensing an update that was not listed in the front material. In an case, nothing fancy here but the information for asparagus condensed into one location.Very handy and recommended!JTG

Title: Short and to the point, for growing asparagus
Review: We have a garden area, and we are looking at some options to grow crops we like, with a minimum of work and weeding. Asparagus are perennials, and after a few years, the crop should be easy to maintain. This book discusses the best way to grow asparagus. We live in an area where they grow lots of asparagus. So with the knowledge gained from this short booklet, next summer I hope to plant two rows of asparagus, from seed, and not from roots, to save costs. This book is short and to the point. It is a good reference to growing asparagus.

Title: Dissapointed
Review: Did not contain any new information. Was not clear or did not contain information about when or correct way to cut down the frowns that go to seed. Does not explain how long to harvest or can I harvest everything.

Review: Specific information designed for you to get the best from your Asparagus beds. Nothing new but a good book for working out timing for covering and feeding and cropping of plants. Not much in here that you can't get from a general grow your own book. It's a pamphet so you can keep it in the shed rather than the bookshelf.

Review: I bought this book and an asparagus knife for my partner as this is the 3rd year since planting a row of asparagus on our allotment. He seems pleased with it. It is a pamphlet really but has the info you need and isn't expensive. Recommended.
