Title: A very interesting departure!
Review: This story is quite unlike the other books Grace Livingston Hill wrote. Nearly every other book is centered with a romance and with directions to learning to be close to and reliant on God as the center of her characters' lives. This story is a suspense thriller! The primary character is a man who works for the Secret Service. In the course of his case, he finds he has inadvertently married a lovely girl he doesn't even know! The presence of God does not feature strongly, only referred to as the inspiration for living a true and generous life. A romance does find its way into the tale. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to Mrs Hill's devotees.

Title: Wonderfully fun book
Review: I love this old romance story. Though it is Christian romance, it is not stiff in the storytelking or characterization. There are some cliches, but general ones. I'd love to see it made into a movie; it has all the tight elements for it: suspense, danger, romance, intrigue, mystery and damsel in distress.

Title: Sweet story
Review: Tons of typos/grammar errors made reading more difficult, but it was a sweet and CLEAN story with a fun and fitting ending. With the typos and grammar errors cleaned up I would give it a five.

Title: A lovely story.
Review: A beautiful love story with a bit of suspense mixed in. Cyril and Celia are married under unusual circumstances. He does not realize he is getting married until he has to place the ring on her finger and she thinks sheâs unhappily marrying someone else. A fun read where the nice guy, and girl, finish first!

Title: Old Favorite
Review: This is one of my favorite GLH books, about one of my favorite heroes. I was so happy to see it on Kindle. There were mistakes and typos, but since I know the story so well, it was a minor distraction. As far fetched as the premise of the story is, it is still a wonderful love story, with exciting twists and turns and tender love scenes. I collect everything GLH did, but this is one that always stood with my favorite few.

Title: Grace Livingston Hill
Review: 30+ years ago, I became a Christian. One of my new friends introduced me to Grace Livingston Hill books and she and I read all the books by this author as we could find in the church library. Some years later, I had a stroke and could not remember much of my past. Of the few things I remember are these books but not what they said. Now that I have a kindle, I am reading them as if for the first time. Thank you Amazon!! Some would say they are old fashioned and out of date, but I prefer the charm and the sincerity these books display.

Review: Cyril Gordon is a young man working for the secret service. He's also the target of the lovely Julia Bentley who seems to think he is her property, unofficially for the moment, until the time comes for her to decide they get married.Cyril is sent on a top secret, urgent mission. Several mishaps befall him while he's on the mission, the most spectacular finding himself marrying a beautiful, sad, unknown young woman. He is torn between his professional duty which is a question of life and death, and the desire to do the right thing especially not to upset his new bride. This is a charming story with an entertaining chase on trains and other conveyances across the US, some good suspense, and lively characters.

Review: This was a good read - nearly. The premise was a little far fetched, but, hey, itâs fiction. The use of language was suited to the era in which the book was set. I liked the hero & heroine.I docked the star because the book could do with some severe copy editing. Verbs with mixed tenses, missing words, clunky punctuation - these faults stop the reader in full flow, since the sense of the sentence has to be worked out. Criticism aside, I enjoyed this book, there was some real suspense, and I found little difficulty in suspending disbelief.

Review: I felt like I was reading a different book to the other reviewers. This book was far fetched & really dull. I was slipping pages to get to the end. 1. You don't realise you are reading a period drama at first. 2. On what planet do you marry someone & not have to say any vows or I do's. 3. Half the time I couldn't make out what people were saying. 4. I know it is fiction but who falls in love after a day? I could go on & on about how bad this book is but I will only bore everybody with my review.
