Title: Actually pretty impressed
Review: I got this even though my little one is a bit younger than the age recommendation. In reality, I wanted to do it myself! I was not expecting the whole kit for all the activities. That was a cool surprise. It comes with a headset, the links to the app (and an optional app for keeping track of activities completed), and the headset. I have a Pixel 7 Pro, and I had trouble adjusting the focus for me to see clearly, but that could have just been because I have an adult-size head and the headset was intended for slightly smaller. There is a recommendation for no more than 15 minutes of VR, and at about 10 I was feeling the effects (which is 10 more minutes than I can last on some other immersive screens!). As others have stated, it is pretty shallow, and I found some of the "featured" things to be pretty touristic even having been there as a tourist. But it was just the right amount of information for my little one! She enjoyed the activity very much. The book does state that the age recommendation is for a child to do the projects independently (with supervision, of course) so it makes much more sense seeing the variety of STEM projects that can be completed with the kit. But with adult help, the age appropriateness goes much younger, which is perfect for a future homeschooling family.

Title: Cheesy and overpriced
Review: Not a fan of these. We got three but only kept one after we realize theyâre limited use and my grandson didnât love them. Heâs eight years old and in my opinion, it was gimmicky.

Title: Lots of fun. Requires smart phone that fits in headset. Uses lots of memory.
Review: I got this to do with my 9 yo. We have had a lot of fun with it. The information is educational, although surface level. It's not a deep dive learning unit by any means, but it's a fun supplement that reinforces learning. The activities like dino dig and such are fun.The VR component requires you to wear a head strap with empty goggles. You then slide a smart phone down onto the viewing area. It's held in place by clips. It does require your phone not be too big. I have a Samsung S22. That's about as big of a screen as it will handle. It has a huge amount of download date when downloading the app. So it will take up a lot of storage and data use. I hooked up to wifi to speed up the download. I did note, my phone got extremely hot during use.The AR component is fun, but not necessarily as necessary as the VR component. It mostly shows brief points of interest or instructions for crafts. The book is sturdy and well made. The craft components are absolutely quality enough to do a good project. The app is intuitive and easy to use. I sat with my 9 yo and he had no trouble using the set. He enjoyed it.

Review: The set up of the item was way to complicated for a child. And it took full time use of phone!
