Warm Tips:

Brining bags are not to be confused with roasting bags, which are used to cook food in an oven. A brining bag should never be used around heat of any kind, and is only suited for brining food.If you tuck the top of the bag down making a collar on the outside, it helps keep the zipper clean and makes it easier to seal. It also helps when filling the bag. It gives the bag more stability. When add meat and brine to brining bags. Place bags in a large leak proof container to avoid any possible mess.

Title: Tough, holds liquid, works great!
Review: I buttermilk brine a lot of birds, usually to spatchcock and smoke. If you haven't tried a buttermilk brine, by the way, you totally should. With chickens, I can usually fit them in a vacuum seal bag. Turkeys are a different story. The last several stuff-your-face holidays I've used a large flat plastic box, but that's far from ideal. It just barely fits my fridge, it spills brine when I move it, and I either have to spend a fortune on buttermilk or raise the buttermilk sea level with zip bags of water while screaming "Eureka".These are just great. They hold liquid like a champ! I hung one upside down for half a day with no evidence of leakage, even without rolling over and clipping. There's not really any instructions, and it comes with string that I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm supposed to do with, but just closing the seal well worked well enough for me. I did have to cut the end off (carefully) but that's no big deal. The material is plenty tough, by the way, much thicker than zip seal bags.I'll probably never have to use that ridiculous plastic box again, thanks to these. I also make corned beef and pastrami from time to time and these will be great for briskets too. Five stars, definitely recommend.

Title: Nice, thick brining bags.
Review: We do a lot of smoked meats and these bags are sturdy enough and strong enough to handle anything we have put in them so far. They are simple to use and do exactly what they should do, hold the items over night or longer to allow the meat to absorb all the wonderful brining flavors.

Title: A little awkward to use
Review: I use these for a large turkey and while they are a little awkward they do come with some rope so you can tie up your meat or bag. These are thick bags pretty leakproof. The turkey came out Perfect I’m not sure if it’s because of the bags or because of the recipe!

Title: Thumbs up from the chef!
Review: My son likes to smoke larger cuts of meat and poultry and these bags did the trick and then some. Turkey, chicken, pork belly, brisket...all were brined or marinated without a tear or a leak. We're not sure what the string that was included is for because it all worked well without it. These definitely made weekend smoking/grilling projects a lot easier.

Title: I used to have to use 2.5 gallon sized bags for my turkeys...
Review: WHAT I USED TO DO: I am a big fan of injecting my turkey and brining it before cooking it. They come out so much better that way. I was previously limited by turkey size since a 2.5 gallon sized bag pretty much maxes out around a 13-15 lb turkey. After that good luck getting the bird into the bag. Getting it closed. And keeping it closed. All this while not making an absolute of well everything.FOR THIS PRODUCT: I now have bags (not trash bags) that can finally handle the turkey way easier! It has a zip lock seal but also one of those plastic slider pieces (do they have another name) to help make sure the seal is good. The bag feels thicker than the 2.5 gallon bags I have been using. This will definitely help make it easier to brine a turkey. No more 2.5 gallon bags for me!

Title: Heavy duty brining bags
Review: Wow. These substantial brining bags are really large. Like really large. I don’t think I could even fit a turkey — or ostrich — that would fit in these bags into my oven. Not only are they plenty big for any item you would like to brine, they are really thick plastic with a nice, secure zip closure to keep all the fluids inside the bag. What these will be really great for is brining several manageable size birds at once for our summertime bbq outings. Super convenient to be able to do several birds at once without multiple containers or bags. I also really appreciate the larger size because after removing the excess air, it creates a flatter, almost vacuum seal-like bag that actually lays flatter in the fridge which is much easier to store while brining without clunky containers that don’t fit without taking shelves out. You get four of these bags along with heavy string that helps to secure the bags as well. A good buy!

Title: Heavy duty and huge
Review: We do a lot of brining/curing, and the largest bags we could find at the grocery store were substandard in that they were rarely reusable and leaked easily. When I saw these bags I knew that was exactly what we needed. They are very heavy duty plastic, extremely large (a turkey will easily fit), and reusable. They don't leak AS LONG AS YOU MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SEALED THE TOP CORRECTLY. You need to double-check it. Those sealing zippers are harder to seal than you think. The four-bag set comes with some string; for trussing I guess? There are also some sealing clips that I may or may not use (seems redundant), but it's good to have them. I am very pleased with the quality of these bags.

Title: Great for a larger turkey
Review: Brining a turkey was new to us a couple of years ago but we are now convinced. For a large turkey, a container has been an issue and these large bags solve that. With the nice double lock seal and also the string tie approach, all is good. They are strong bags and no leaking issues for us so far.
