Title: Excellent book!

Title: Presidents of the U.S.
Review: I bought a comparable book called First Ladies of the United States and it is a real keeper! This book is about the same, but does not have the hard cover which would have made it better. The paper is great and the photographs are memorable. The lives of the Presidents are informative even if they are only one page each. It is a worthwhile book! The price is right!

Title: Disappointed overall; not what I expected
Review: I bought this on the strength of the author's name, Michael Beschloss, but this is essentially an encyclopedic summary of each president through Obama. You can find just as much information, if not more, in a simple Google search. Yes, the portraits are nice to have, the one page write up is honest and non-partisan, and the information accurate. But I was expecting something deeper, at least an overview of the presidency and who occupied it. I give it three stars because of the positives, but even this is generous in my opinion.If Amazon had enabled a preview of this book, I would not have bought it as it would have been clear what it included, and did not, in terms of format and presentation.
