Title: Wonderful songs from the Great American Songbook
Review: I like this fake book so much that this is the secon one I purchased. I want to cut out my favorite songs and make a separate version of my own. Cost is so minimal for a book of so many pages. One of my favorites… Received book. Different. Beautiful with new songs. Nice white crisp pages with easy to read music with lyrics at such a small price for a fake book. Very pleased. Highly recommend.

Title: Lots of good music in here
Review: This has been my favorite of several fake books I've purchased. I'm still new at the keyboard, but this book is challenging me to learn more chords and pick up things on my own. The selection should please just about anyone.Yes, the print is a little small, but that's the trade-off for getting so much.I would recommend to anyone who can manage to get around the keys on their own. If you're going the route of taking lessons, this may not be for you. But if you want to make your own way and have a good ear and feel for music, this is a great book.Since I've purchased it around the first of January 2010, I've added a half-dozen or more brand new songs to my repetoire. My goal for 2010 is to be able to play 150-200 songs. I see that as entirely possible with what's provided.

Title: Better selection!
Review: Better SelectionAfter ordering This Is The Ultimate Fake Book (Fourth Edition) I was really bummed (selections were awful and misleading. But I decided to take a chance on The Best Fake Book Ever (Third Edition). I’m glad I did! I ordered used because I didn’t want to waste money on a book I didn’t like. The books condition was so so. Binder was in tact but not in great shape which was ok because I divided the book into three parts. I did not like however the stain and icky stickers on the front and back. This book has a much better selection than the first one I bought and while there are still repeat and older songs it has many more modern songs! For instance “If” is actually by The group Bread, not some obscure never heard of song. Kokomo is by Beach Boys, Joy to the World is the one done by Three Dog Night, and many other popular songs. My main disappointment though is that many of my favorites are either 5 sharps or 5 flats and hard for even intermediate players. If you are not familiar with fake books they are melody line only with the chords on top. So chord memorization is helpful for improvisation of the base clef using the chords the top of the Treble clef. Which works great for me!

Title: All you need in one book!
Review: Great 'resource' book for a great many genres of music and it covers a multitude of years worth of songs. I have other fake books, but this has so much more than any before. It was all I'd hoped it would be. It IS kind of thick - by necessity, but it still sits quite well on my keyboard stand. I love the fact that all the songs fit on their own page - I HATE page turning in the middle of a song!

Title: Print is Too Small
Review: CONS: The print is too small to see well. Compared to my other music the printing is also lighter, making it that much harder to read. It is very big and very heavy. You may want to consider breaking it down into smaller sections if you have a keyboard with a plastic music holder.PROS: There is something here for everyone from beginner to intermediate so if you are just starting out, as I am, there are songs to graduate to as you learn and improve. The song selection is large and varied. I like that after the Table of Contents they divided songs into categories as well. Some of the categories are Broadway Show Tunes, Jazz, Children's, Country, Big Band, Hits of the 50's through Hits of the 2000's, Movie and TV, etc. Even songs that are in 3/4 time are separately listed.For the amount of songs and variety it is a good buy but none of that will be of much use if you can't see it well and that's why I gave it 3 stars.

Title: Don't buy the Kindle version for Android kindle reader!
Review: Got the Kindle edition. I use the Kindle reader for Android tablet. Book is 300Mb to download.- Every song is a small picture you need to double click before it opens full page. While looking at that picture, the tablet goes into power saving mode and dims out the screen, so you have to keep on touching the screen to keep it lit. (The reader doesn't do that reading actual kindle pages, but it does looking at pictures.)- Some songs are spread over 2 or more pages, to "turn" the page, I have to back out of the picture, then swipe to go to the next page, double click to open that next page full screen and keep on touching it not to dim out, while playing a keyboard,....I'll probably order the actual book. Turning pages the old fashion way will be faster:) I liked the idea of having the songs on Kindle, a swipe of the finger to turn a page is easy, but this absolutely doesn't work. I returned it within and hour.This review may not apply to other Kindle readers.

Review: angeblich das BESTE Fakebook EVER...habe davon leider nix gemerkt - die Ausarbeitung der Songs ist zwar gut und übersichtlich, jedoch waren mir zu wenige Klassiker und sonstiges mit anderen Worten: Die Songauswahl entspricht nicht wirklich dem Titel des Buches.Von den Über 1000 Songs kannte ich vielleicht 200 - 300 Lieder.Vielleicht eher für ältere Generationen.

Review: Love it!! I ordered the digital edition for my iPad. Trying to cut back on the amount of books I have. This isn’t Mozart, so you don’t need every note, it’s just a fun bit of music to play around with, without the huge fake book which is difficult to maneuver pages.Same quality publication, I’ve got older editions of Fake books.Digital is the way to go!
