Title: Very good
Review: Perfect e-reader. Color is meh, but what do you expect from an e-reader, temper your expectations. Books like nice, manga looks nice. It's also in on linux

Title: The best of the Kaleido 3 e-ink screens. Just wish it was bigger.
Review: I've been testing a number of the Kaleido 3 e-ink screens to find the best one for both ebooks and comics, and thus far this PocketBook InkPad Color 3 is by far the best. While it's software is far more limiting than something like the Boox Note Air3 C (the Boox uses a customized version of Android, with full access to the Google Play Store; whereas the PocketBook uses a stripped down Linux OS that is more equivalent to the OS on a Kindle or Kobo ereader), it excels in what is designed for - reading! The biggest thing that sets it apart from other Kaleido 3 is the quality of the screen. I'm honestly not sure what PocketBook is doing differently than competitors, but the screen is both sharper and more vibrant. When reading a book, or anything black and white, the background is much closer to the neutral white of the latest Carta 1200 e-ink screens. Other Kaleido 3 screens have a grayish background, which reduces overall contrast and makes it harder to read without the use of the front light. Colors are also a far bit more vibrant and true to life (though nowhere near that of a traditional LCD or OLED display - understandably). My biggest complaint is the screen size. I find the 7.8" size a bit awkward, being a bit too big for ebooks and not big enough for comics. I would love a larger 10+" screen which would be great for comics, but still useable for ebooks. As it is, comics look good on the 7.8" screen, but can definitely be hard to read without some panning and zooming (which is not great on an e-ink screen, any e-ink screen).

Title: Do you want only an e-reader?
Review: I think this question is important because other color readers like the Onyx Boox Tab Mini C are very close in price to this e-reader and do much more. The Boox Tab platform is based on Android so you can install a variety of applications, including readers from other companies such as Kindle, Kobo, Nook, etc. And the Tab C has a Wacom layer so it's able to be used to take notes as well. The Boox note-taking and reading applications are quite good.Neverheless, if you want just a color e-reader and you don't care about any other features, I think I would probably still recommend the Kobo Libra Colour over this for users in the United States as their ecosystem and store are better suited for this market. It also has pen support but more importantly, it has Overdrive support for reading library books. If you aren't locked into the Kindle ecosystem (and if you are, this PocketBook also isn't the best device for you), then Kobo is probably the next best option and the Libra Colour is arguably a better buy at a lower price. The PocketBook InkPad Color does offer a waterproof body, which is somewhat unique. It also has a usable web browser. I do not have a Tab Mini C, but I do have a Boox Tab Ultra C and a Nova Air C and I will say that the color screen on this PocketBook appears better in most cases. It's Kaleido 3 vs. Kaleido Plus on my Nova Air C, and it's a smaller screen, which may be why it tends to look better than my Tab Ultra C. But outside of book covers, the web browser, and the built-in games, you don't really have a lot of opportunities to admire color on the PocketBook. If you want to browse, the Boox is superior not only with the built-in browser but you can install many other browsers from the Play Store. As an e-reader for reading books, I have no compalints. Text is sharp and there are plenty of options for customizing font size for reading comfort. The frontlight is also adjustable and works well in daylight and at night. There is bluetooth for listening to audiobooks (which need to be M4A or M4B format) and there is a feature like Send-to-Kindle where you can email books to the reader. I transferred most of my EPUBs over USB, but I did send a few books to myself via email and the feature worked well. It does sync reading progress across PocketBook devices (I recently reviewed the little Verse) and this works fairly well. The reader has speakers, so you can listen to audiobooks without having to pair bluetooth headphones. When you are listening to an audiobook, the cover does not take over your powered-off screen as it does with e-books.It is nice to have physical buttons, but despite the page turn buttons being raised, I tend to struggle with them. I think this may just be that I'm not used to buttons. But I do try to use them because page turns aren't done with a simple tap but with a swipe and I greatly prefer taps. Having buttons makes up for this a bit.If you are coming from another PocketBook device and you want to stay in their ecosystem, then this is a fine e-reader and colors look good for the constraints presented by Kaelido 3. But most people I think should either wait for a color Kindle or buy a Kobo or Boox.

Title: So disappointed with the display :/
Review: I was so excited to get this Inkpad Color 3. The display was abysmal. Streaky frontlight and too many pinholes in the color layer to count. Had to return.

Title: ð©¶
Review: A wonderful e-reader. Two-tone lighting - warm and cool. Not super bright, which I like. The speed is not fast, but to me, it is definitely faster than my old worn-out 10-year-old e-reader, and that's perfectly adequate for reading books rather than constantly scrolling through the internet.

Title: Excessive expectation
Review: I mistakenly assumed that in the 15 years since I bought the first Amazon Paper White, something had changed, but it turned out that everything has only gotten worse. The color has appeared, but it is quite pale, the same screen response remain, the impression is that the manufacturer is trying to offer us old technologies in new packaging. When you first launch the PocketBook, it contains many books in different languages, why do I need this? I prefer a clean device, without garbage, of which there is plenty here; if I need to read the classics, Iâll just take a paper book from the shelf, itâs just stupid to read free books of the classics, especially if you have a paper copy. If necessary, I will have time to download them. Now I spend time to delete them. The size of the cloud is simply ridiculous, 2 gigabytes, what will fit on them? The manufacturer does not think that having a color book, the user wants to have a larger free space on the cloud by purchasing the PocketBook. The built-in memory capacity of 32 gigabytes is also not enough for today; the magazines that I was going to read had already reached 40 gigabytes. I want to be able to host the entire collection without splitting or using clouds. Dropbox is buggy, there's no point in using it. The manufacturer did not add a slot for a memory card, this is a very big mistake. After connecting to the laptop via USB, after 5 minutes of transfer an error message appeared and the bookâs file system was damaged and I stacked with alarm message on the screen. All settings are gone, are you laughing? Well, basically what I expected from PocketBook?

Customers say
Customers like the reading ability of the electronic book reader. They mention it's a wonderful device for reading all books and has a great OS. However, some customers have reported that the size is too small and the screen size is not big enough for comics. Opinions are mixed on the color accuracy.
