What size SIM card does the SC490 use?

The Jethro SC490 uses the mini (also known as standard) size SIM card. If you choose to use Jethro Mobile, the SIM card comes installed in the phone already. If you want to use another carrier, simply remove the our SIM and insert your carrier's SIM.

What is Jethro Mobile?

Jethro Mobile is our prepaid service with live customer support provided by the SIM card installed in the SC490. With easy activation, you can get a new number or port your existing one. The SC490 is unlocked if you prefer another carrier.

Does the SC490 have access to the internet or the capability to download any apps?

No, the SC490 does not have an internet browser, App Store, or any way to connect to the internet. It does have the option to connect to Wi-Fi calling which only allows you to boost your phone's reception. Wi-fi calling will not connect browsers/apps

Does the SC490 have a replacement policy?

Yes, if you buy the SC490 new it has a 1 year manufacturer's replacement policy that covers defective units. If you purchase the SC490 used, it has a 3 month replacement policy for defective units.

How does the SOS button work?

The SOS option lets you to program up to 5 numbers. When triggered, it will text all of the numbers and call each one by one. The SOS button can be enabled or disabled any time. Also, there is a low battery notification when the battery is below 10%

Title: Beyond normal customer support
Review: I purchased the Jethro package for my father 6 months ago. My father illness make him very confused and he called customer service thinking he was calling me. Customer Service then called ME and told me my father was trying to reach me. Another company might simple hang up the phone and let my father try again to reach me. I called him immediately and felt much better speaking with me. I HIGHLY recommend JETHRO for any family that needs a high customer service low cost carrier with a phone that a senior can use. Pedro (Ivan) D was a great help and asset to Jethro!
