Title: Do-able even for long-time kitchen/food prep avoiders!
Review: This book has been very inspiring and helpful to me in changing my approach to food, at least so far! I'm on day 14 of a 21 day plan and am committed to reaching day 21, including 6 fasting days. So far I've only fasted for 24 hour periods, I try a 36 hour one next week, or not. But Day 22 is on my mind! The book discusses an 80/20 plan, but I also want to be free for a day. To do that, I will plan a menu and shopping list for the days/week after day 22. There are recipes online for "cake cups" from Dr. Kellyann which sound good, easy to make, and satisfying to breads-n-sweets lovers like me since those items are not on the 21 day plan.As someone who has for years eaten only prepared foods, canned foods, frozen foods, or easy to make egg dishes and salads, whose fresh veg & fruits often go bad before I eat them, this way of planning, shopping and preparing food was a major challenge, but welcome. I've had a lot to learn about how long veggies & meat can stay in the fridge before requiring freezing, & got new containers to freeze the meals I made from the book's many recipes for easy "grab & go" lunches daily, and dinner waiting for me at home (mostly). I will admit I plan to eat a lot of grab & go meals based around burgers this coming week-they are simple and delicious! So far my favorite recipe is the Asian turkey burgers. (By the way, I should add that I've bought my bone broth from the local butcher as well as a healthy foods market near me, just not wanting to make my own bone broth, but I have made soups.)

Review: What did you like or dislike:I loved how relatable and real Dr. Kellyanne's writing is! I would love to just hang out and talk shop! I, like most women take care of others easily. But when it comes to myself, it's a chore and overwhelming. However, because of the way Dr. approaches the physicality of the bone broth fast /lifestyle as well as the emotional aspect of taking care of yourself and making a transition there as well, I am feeling hopeful and excited to start this journey to a new body and mind.Thank you Dr. Kellyanne for getting me pumped! Can't wait to share my progress with others after completing the 21 day bone broth diet and the continuation of my transformation.I want all my friends and family to read the book even if they don't do the diet. There is so much more to this book than that. There are many great tips for making a transformation mentally and physically. It was so. Relatable that I couldn't stop reading and was sad that it was over. This definitely a book I will re-read over and over for inspiration!!

Review: On the recommendation of my acupuncturist, I started this diet at the beginning of the year. I felt so bloated and yucky. I knew I needed to lose weight, as my blood test at my physical showed elevated levels of "bad" things. I'm losing about 2 lbs/week. I thought the fasting days would be difficult, and sometimes they are, but I feel so "cleaned out" afterwards! What I love most about the book are the recipes! Everything I have made has turned out so yummy. The recipes are easy to follow, easy to adapt, easy to prepare, and good enough for company. My husband has even lost weight from our better eating habits.I have no more cravings, and have cut my alcohol consumption to practically nothing. I thought I was eating well, but this showed me where I could improve. I have more energy, I'm more alert, and love how I look. I'm wearing clothes that haven't fit in months. Nothing I did before this ever seemed to work, even going gluten-free. I'm happy that I found something sustainable. We travel a lot, and now I won't gain so much weight. When I reach my desired weight, I might not do the fasting days, I'll have to see. I'm able to have one glass of wine with dinner, and that satisfies me. We used to go through a bottle of wine every night, and that was adding up. I'm not a sweets/dessert person to begin with, but I do love chocolate. I can indulge without guilt, now.I started making my own bone broth, which is easy. The trick is to use vinegar and let the concoction simmer all day (I use a slow cooker). That way, the gelatin is released, and that is what keeps me fuller on the fast days. I drink a cup every 2 hours, and have a regular dinner. And my skin looks fabulous. You know when something works better than you expected? This diet does that for me. Good luck and enjoy the ride!
