Title: Not your same old stale formula Chick Lit.
Review: Most of the time I read books/authors on my Kindle that are on sale or free and totally unknown to me. Some I delete after the first few chapters but occasionally I find a surprise author and can't wait to read more. I'm going to buy the rest of Jane Heller's ebooks now. Fun book and a twist in the storytelling and a nice escape to read in the evenings from the wear and tear of daily life.

Title: Mixed Feelings About This One. 3-plus stars.
Review: I think it has taken me longer to contemplate the review of this book than it took to read. It's without a doubt, a breezy read--good summer fare that is mindless and juicy. And in some cases, especially with the voice of the main character, Amy, very funny.But . . . there's something about it that bothered me. The characters, particularly the satellite characters, are banal (the gay assistant, the well-heeled boss, the fast-talking editor--even the stud-muffin mystery writer), and the plot is contrived and often predictable. I stayed with it because I loved the voice of Amy. She was honest-in spite of being a first class liar-but she lets the readers in on all her secrets and this makes her endearing.While it seems other reviewers liked the switching perspectives between the two friends/enemies, Amy and Tara, so much more time is dedicated to Amy that she is the true voice of the book and Tara remains a caricature. Tara's sections are like a tribute to equal time, rather than equal time. And she is as repulsive as she's meant to be. Can't understand why Amy would want to be friends with her at all, let alone "best friends."Overall, I give it three and half stars and recommend the book as fun entertainment. Thank you Jane Heller. Title: Good Summer Reading
Review: This was a fun, easy read perfect for laying around the house in the air-conditioning or at the pool. The women were easy to relate to and almost everyone can relate to being "dumped" some of us can relate to being dumped for your best friend! All in all it was predictable but had a enough twists in the story-line to keep you wanting to read to see what happens next.

Title: Calling all girlfriends!
Review: I Kindled this sight-unseen as soon as the 99c special came through my email. There's no reason to read reviews or synopses with Jane Heller's work because not only is she an incredibly talented writer, but she also writes with a great deal of "heart." When I began to read "Best Enemies" I realized I had previously read it - but did that stop me from re-reading it? Certainly not. I dived right in, laughing out loud at Part One that Amy narrates - perhaps enjoying different parts than those read the first time around. Just when you think you know where this book is headed it changes course and you hear from Tara (Amy's former BFF and the woman who stole Amy's fiance, Stuart) - a stroke of brilliance as she counter-attacks Amy's point of view. But the twists of the story don't stop there - you have Tony, Amy's literary client who becomes her fake fiance to impress Tara who has written a book about her perfect marriage. I've read most of Ms. Heller's books, but see I may have missed a couple from 2012. She is one author that you can read over and over and never be bored. Highly recommended and I've reviewed a lot of books on this site. Sit back, relax and get ready to laugh and empathize with both protagonists in this enjoyable, well written novel.

Title: Great read!
Review: I can't remember the last time I rated a book 5 stars but I really enjoyed this book! I guess I can understand and relate to both characters - Tara and Amy. Most women have been there and while we think all is well with our friends/best friends ..we don't really know the full story and people can lead you to think all is good if they want to.And yes I wanted to believe Tara was a selfish ex-prom queen but I guess what this book has achieved is that we shouldn't believe everything we hear - Amy's version of the story was based on her feelings and stories and you really don't know the full story until you hear the other side of it - which we did with Tara's version.

Title: Surprisingly entertaining
Review: I downloaded this book to my kindle on a whim and thought it would be bad. However, it turned out to have a plot that kept me intrigued and characters that i related and felt for. All in all a good read with some editing issues.

Title: A Cross between best friends and bitter enemys
Review: Amy and Tara used to be best friends when they were younger. That changed when Amy found Tera sleeping with Amy's fience before the wedding. They had not seen each other for several years, until they run into each other on the street. Amy is in publishing and Tara just wrote a book, so the two are forced to get along with each other for the sake of the book.Amy had told Tara that she was engaged (even though she really wasn't) so when Tera invites Amy to her house to discuss the book Amy invites Tony Stiles, another author she has published (and whom she can't stand) to pretend that he is her fience. Amy, Tony, Tara, and Tara's husband Stuart (Amy's former fience) get together over the next several months, with both Amy and Tara grining and bareing it. That is until Stuart disapears. At that point Amy and Tera with the help of Tony unlock the mystery of Stuarts disapearents as well as what he had been up to in the past. While doing this Amy and Tara come to terms and become friends-Tara ultimitly being Maide of Honor when Amy and Tony get married

Title: Good Summer Read
Review: I always enjoy Jane Heller's books and this one didn't disappoint.The only problem I had with it was the dual point of views. So much more time was given to Amy that you expected Tara's short parts to really give insight into the character that would make you realize she's different from how Amy is portraying her. However, not only did that not happen, but Tara's passages made her even more unlikeable to me, so I'm not really sure what the point of them was.Definitely worth adding to your summer reading list.
