Title: Great heater, safe to use, good price
Review: We needed to replace a 50,000 BTU propane heater that was old and unsafe. We used it to preheat a detached woodshop that measures 20âL X 12âW X 8âH, and the old heater required us to monitor it because it would randomly shut off, leaving the propane flowing and an electric fan running. We live in an area where minus 0 temperatures are not uncommon, and babysitting the old heater while it roars for twenty minutes to get the temperature up to 72 degrees (F) isnât a lot of fun.We bought the Mr. Heater MH60QFAV for several reasons (besides its cost):It has continuous ignition, which means the igniter runs continuously while the heater is running, so should it get knocked over, or the propane line have a âburpâ the flame will automatically reignite. It has a variable heat setting, allowing a BTU output of 30K through 60K. We use the 60K to preheat the shop, and then use electric heating to maintain the temperature. It normally takes less than 10 minutes to get up to 72 degrees (F).It doesnât stink the place up. You can smell a light scent, but itâs not overwhelming. This heater is quiet, light, smaller than older models of torpedo heaters, has a very long gas line (almost 9â), and the front of the heater can be elevated by an adjustment knob. The best thing about it is my wife trusts it, and lights it herself.

Title: Saved Thanksgiving!
Review: Thanksgiving needed to be outdoors this year because of the pandemic. We had a big enough tent but the weather up here in NY is chilly and while everyone was willing to try this, we weren't sure whether this little heater would do the job.It did.Using propane (a 20lb tank seems to last about 5 or 6 hours on high) and an electric connection (for ignition and the fan motor) this little cannon put out enough heat to warm a table of 12. Those closest to the heater were quite a bit warmer than those 12 feet away at the other side of the table so everyone chose their seating based on their cold tolerances.Setting up the heater was easy and everything but a full propane tank and an extension cord is included. The unit is nicely made and the outside of the heater does not get dangerously warm (double wall construction) even after hours of use--a big safety plus. The unit has (as all propane appliances do) a safety thermocouple which only allows the gas to flow to the heater when it is producing heat and it seems to work well. The noise from the heater is substantial, a combination of the propane flame and the fairly powerful fan motor creates a bit of a roar. But our guests didn't seem to mind so long as they were toasty.

Title: very portable
Review: It was 40 degrees in my uninsulated garage. I started the heater and in 17 minutes it was a comfortable 68 degrees, very satisfactory for me. It is a little noisy. I wonder if one can put an inline 120 Volt motor controller rheostat and after the first heat up, i could then turn down the gas to low and also reduce the speed of the fan??I purchased a Variable voltage control. ZOWZEA 120V ac motor control and it works great, slows fan down just a little when on low gas setting and becomes much quieter.

Title: Works Great
Review: We purchased this heater for our green house.. 16x30. It works great and keeps the greenhouse at an even temperature on cold nights. I would recommend this product, and it is worth the money.

Title: Black Friday Deal
Review: Bought it last year and got a good price on it. I've used it to flash heat my garage as needed and/or to supplement an electric garage heater. Last year I did not have a well ventilated garage so I didn't use it much. This fall/winter I've had more of a chance to use it and I'm happy with the purchase. As others have said however you will tear though A LOT of propane very quickly if you run it for hours at a time. No need in my application to be honest. This will jump the temp of my somewhat insulated 1 car garage by about 30 degrees in 15 or so minutes. Good enough for hanging out in the garage, doing projects, or sitting on my smoking couch. I mounted an extension cord on the wall for ease of turning on and off. You will need that to power this unit because the cord coming off the heater is about 6 inches long.

Title: Helped keep our well unfrozen during huge winter storm
Review: We live in the Central Texas Hill Country and have a well. The wellhead, pipes, and tank are currently open to the air, but twice in the last 4 years we've had hugely cold, prolonged, Arctic blasts with temps staying in the teens or below for days/weeks at a time. After the first big such storm we ended up no running water for a week, and once it all thawed out we had busted pipes at the well. During that storm we also lost power which caused our pipe heat tape and electric heater to stop working. This year (January 2024) we had similar weather and didn't want a recurrence, so we did a couple of things. First, after the last storm we got a Honda generator to keep the pipe tape working. Second, we got this propane heater to keep things thawed out. We also could use the generator to keep both the pipe tape and the fan of this heater working if the power went out.I was able to use this heater on the lowest setting, and with a 20 gallon propane tank it would run for 12-ish hours, enough to get us through the coldest overnight periods. I have an inventory of four propane tanks so I was able to keep it going each night and get tanks refilled during the days.Note that this heater is not rated for outdoor use, but where my well is I have a (non-flammable) table that I set over the heater as a rain/snow block, and it worked just fine and kept everything thawed and flowing through the storm. Highly recommended.Oh, and I already have contractors giving me bids for a well house to permanently solve the issue. 🙂

Review: Works great. Not nearly as loud as I had expected. Yes there is noise, but stand by your house furnace and there is noise there as well. Nice to be able to adjust the amount of heat. Although it is on or off. Sparker runs all the time, seems weird, but must be a safety thing and designed to last. Time to get back to my garage and putter and tinker around. Update: a month of use, and still really like it. Use it for an hour or two night, and just replaced the 20lb propane tank for the second time. So, about 20 bucks per tank refill, so it does cost, but not too bad for minus 10-15 Celsius, and the 25 x 25 unheated shop gets to a comfortable with light jacket 10 degrees Celsius.

Review: Saved our Hydeâs all winter in garage. Pumps out the heat.Claims to be quiet. Itâs not but what do you expect. Itâs an air blower. Unless Dyson comes out with a 3000 dollar version of this thatâs whisper quiet donât hold your breath. Great unit. Much quieter than others. If you need heat. Donât mind a little fan noise ( you can talk over it albeit Loud talking) this is worth buying.

Review: Work quietly first and foremost compared to other brands we tried. Little disappointed ifnitor stays on the whole time. Note: NOT A GROUND ISSUE AS 3 PRONGER WAS USED. It's a nanny implementation. Also paid way more than we should have if we lived in the US. Ad the manufacturer doesn't sell directly to Canada so couldn't take advantage of online super deal for Christmas.Heating garage under 800 sq ft. -3 c outside. Plus 15 inside! Heavy on propane on hi however turn it down after heating up non-insulated garage for 15-20 min and she works well to maintain temp. Frankly I'm amazed. Even when required to run with garage door open, having the blast of heat on me at 6-8 ft kept me working in sweatshirt only.Nice work Mr HeatDelivery was super quick.Customer service very quick to respond on the phone:) to question about the clicking from ignitor and offered refund...just got use to it for now doesnt seem to bother us.

Review: Pure comfort for those frigid days in the workshop. I love using this in my 900 sqft garage which is split up into two sections, divided by a partial wall (one side is approx 300 sqft, and the other is 600). I usually crack a door to keep ventilation intact, and I have the heater set to a mere 40K BTU for the 600 sqft side of the garage. It does wonders for heating this space, and even carries over to the smaller side of our garage to keep that side slightly more toasty as well.Overall, very easy to use, and gives your BBQ propane cylinder a use for the entire year (vs just BBQ season).
Customers say
Customers like the heat output, functionality, and ease of use of the space heater. They mention it heats the garage thoroughly, keeps the greenhouse at an even temperature on cold nights, and works easily. Some also like the size. However, some customers differ on the noise level, value for money, igniter, and build quality.
