Your bait station is designed to safely deliver rat bait. To determine the best locations for the boxes, you should first determine where the animals prefer to stay on your property (nesting sites, feeding sites) and what walking routes they use. You can determine this by looking for nail and droppings marks, or by placing small amounts of non-toxic bait such as oatmeal, which you remove before beginning control.

If possible, do not clean infestation sites before beginning control, as this may disturb rodents and make it difficult for them to accept the bait.

Preparation for control

Set up bait station

The rat bait station is suitable for both permanent and short-term control of harmful rodents.

Place the bait station in the immediate vicinity of the identified nesting sites, feeding sites or walking paths. The box has two entrances; if it is placed against a house wall, the entrances must be parallel to the wall.

After opening the bait station, the bait (not included, please order separately) can be pulled onto the safety rod provided. This safety device prevents rats from carrying the baits out of the station.

Do not forget to securely close the bait station again after placing the baits.

Depending on the infestation level, several bait boxes should be placed 5 to 20 meters apart. Experience has shown that the rats will take the bait after two to four days.

Title: Excellent
Review: This trap was easy to set up and it's working. I used gloves to avoid a human scent and touching the bait. It's placed outside my garage door, and rats have eaten the bait and died. I used Tomcat bait, which I suspect is the same bait that the professional exterminator used; but I'm saving a lot of money by doing it myself. One thing I really like is that I can see the bait through the lid every time I walk by without opening the trap to monitor if it's being eaten or needs to be replaced.

Review: It fits 3 Bait Chunx inside and I like the clear top so you can see if it needs replacement. It only comes with 1 key - wish it had 2 . Otherwise, I would be the 2 pack again

Review: Rats can easily get into these bait stations. After putting two out on both sides of the house, next day the bait had signs of being eaten.I received 2 keys with the 2 stations.

Review: It doesn’t come with bait so make sure you have or buy some for it… The box gets pushed around, but no bait is missing… which tells me that the opening is too small.

Title: Stations work
Review: These are sturdy and light weight at the same time. I love that the tops are see through plastic to make it easy to see when you need to rebait rather than having to open each time to check. A real time saver for me. The bait wires are sturdy and easy to use. The box opens with a quick turn of the keys provided and shuts securely. The Rat’s like the see through tunnel that allows them to grab and go completely through the trap. Let’s face it, checking and baiting traps is not the hi-light of anyones day, but the Rats being GONE makes it a rewarding task.Would definite buy again and recommend. 🫡

Title: Here's the lesson I learned
Review: I saw my $65 per visit bait guy from the pest company opening these black bait boxes and putting in the same bait I was using. Here's what I learned from buying and using these. After you pry it open (the key is a bad joke) break off the two white locking tabs and throw away the key. Get some wood shims to secure the bait. The wire to lock down the bait is too high and the bait is dragged away. You will not find a bracket to attach the box to the ground or tied to a tree so animals easily drag them around the yard. I used gray duct tape to cover key hole, otherwise water comes (pours) in and dissolves the bait. I used duct tape with the ends folded back to keep the lid on. After just a few days use, that clear top iscloudy and you cannot, in fact. see if the bait is taken. Otherwise, it's pretty much as advertised.

Title: Doesn't Work
Review: I love the clear top so I can see if the bait needs to be replaced or not. Before I purchased these I had black rat baits which worked well except what happened is a rat was living in one of them. It must have been empty of the bait. So when I noticed rat activity I went to replenish the bait and to my surprise there was a rat living inside. The scare of a lifetime.So I bought this trap for two reasons - to monitor if the bait needs replacing and to make sure there is no rat inside!The problem is that the rats are not going inside this bait trap.So I guess I am back to buying a more standard trap without a clear top :(I'm sad this didn't work.

Title: It works for me
Review: This was very easy to set up. I used another bait that is not poisonous to other wildlife, it just affects their ability to drink water. I wore gloves when putting this together. I brushed an extremely thin layer of peanut butter oil in the the bait area, then I sprinkled bird seed, then the bait over that. I also used a cheap chip brush to spread a thin layer of peanut butter oil on the outer sides of the trap to eliminate any human smell. I waited for 3 days and checked the chambers. The bait was gone!!! I will update in a month. I think masking any human or plastic odors helped. I am buying more to cover all possible areas.
