Product Description
The Hi & Light Trail Shoes elevate the paw wear experience for dogs (and their humans) seeking a minimal and flexible solution to paw protection. Those paws get both protection and exceptional ground-feel with the soft, flexible rubber outsole, helping dogs keep their stride and focus on the adventure at hand. The engineered knit upper adds comfort and breathability and limits trail debris from getting in the shoe. The construction celebrates a less-is-more mindset to minimize material stackups and maximize comfort. The hook-and-loop closure opens wide for easy on and cinches around the narrowest part of the dog’s leg to provide a secure fit.

Title: These booties easily handle any terrain
Review: Our 16 year old dogâs hind legs have become very weak, to the point where she needs wheels when we go for walks. But she can still walk in the house and backyard without wheels. So our rehabilitation veterinarian wants our dog to still use her hind legs with the wheels to continue to help strengthen them. So our vet suggested we get grippy booties.Weâve had Ruffwear harnesses in the past, so we know Ruffwear makes good products. These booties are no different. These will definitely stand up to any terrain conditions. Itâs easy to slide them on your dogâs paws. They also stay on her paws, though you do have to ensure you tighten the Velcro. If the Velcro is not wrapped tightly, the booties will slide off pretty easily. The one thing about these tough all terrain booties is that the sizable rubberized bottom makes them a bit stiff. So it may take your dog a little while to get used to walking/running in them.

Title: Prior used
Review: Ordered 2 pair. One had the correct packaging with cardboard backing. The other was just in a bag with hair inside the boots. I was getting these due to a paw pad injuring. Also the boots tighten around the dew claw which is Not good

Title: Easy to put on, secure during use, light weight but tough.
Review: These boots are perfect for my old friend who has suffered from a meniscus tear that can not, due to complications, be repaired. His back foot now drags on the toenails when we take our walks and they are wearing down faster than they can regrow. These boots work great at keeping him from going through the quick. I'm happy that I could find a set of two in the right size for his feet. Easy to put on, secure during use, light weight but tough. Great product.

Title: Improved sole design
Review: My dog has been wearing Ruffwear shoes for about five years. I've purchased a few varieties for him (mesh for hot weather, some fabric ones for regular daily use). Unfortunately his daily use shoes seem to have been discontinued, since they're perpetually our of stock. We're trying out this newer model as a daily shoe, and it has pros and cons. One pro is the way the sole is molded; it comes up higher around the foot, which makes for a more durable build. We had some sole separation issues on his last pair of daily use shoes, so I'm pleased with this change. A con, however, is that they don't seem to be very water resistant; few dog shoes are unless they're heavily rubberized, so I wasn't surprised by this. My dog has dewclaws on his front legs, but we've been lucky enough with Ruffwear that every model he's worn has sat below the dewclaw. For added comfort and to help keep the shoes on, he wears socks (nothing fancy; literally cotton socks marketed for newborn babies). For best results if you're trying to train your dog to wear shoes, start by measuring them and following the sizing chart. They may need two different sizes for their front and back feet, which is why quality dog shoes are generally sold in pairs instead of sets of four. Consider whether your dog has a dewclaw and where the shoe will sit (every dog is different!) Try socks if the shoes seem to be working well but fall off often. Last but not least, praise and reward your dog for accepting the shoes for however long they manage to keep them on. One day, your best bud might be like my little guy, who loves his shoes because they make him feel like he has heat-proof, grippy, super-powered toes.

Title: Lower profile
Review: These have a lower profile than other dog boots. My dog prefers these to taller ones. They work well in the heat. She just has to get used to them! They were expensive but were the only ones to not come up so high on her legs, which she prefers. I bought another pair and returned them because they did not fit well. These fit nicely.

Title: These ran big
Review: I measured accurately, but they ran really wide. They are designed for a very round, wide, short paw. So the shape may work for some dogs, but not for mine.

Title: Old dog approved
Review: Our 15 year old has degeneration, and his back feet tend to slip on smooth surfaces. His boots give him much more confidance. He knows when he has them on he can easily do things that are not possible without the boots. We found his feet get a bit swampy if he wears them too long, or in hot weather. We added cotton toddler socks, and that solved our issue. Love Ruffwear products, they make living with an elderly pet a little easier.

Review: My dog has a pretty standard shaped foot, but these don't fit great. They are straight without an angle or shape so when the dog stands or walks the front is all wrinkled and the back gapes (tightening the strap doesn't help). They don't stay on great. Some walks they'll stay on the whole time and other times no amount of adjusting helps they just constantly fall off. If the dog is pulling at all they'll fall off eventually. You have to constantly watch for them flying off and £45 worth of dog boots getting left behind. I dont think the fit is better than the cheap ones, but the materials and construction (not design) are good and obviously superior. They are very expensive and not sure they are worth it in my opinion.
Customers say
Customers like the durability, ease of use, and heat resistance of the pet apparel. They mention it's a solid brand for any dog gear, provides great traction, and is easy to slide on their paws. However, some customers have reported that the boots run a size too small.
