What happens when you accidentally throw a blueberry pie in your brother’s best friend’s face?

You marry him a week later for health insurance, of course.

Dreamy lumberjack Remy Gagnon is not just my brother’s best friend, he’s my new husband—thanks to my pesky gallbladder.

One year. That’s our deal. I need surgery and I need to finish my PhD, and Remy’s training to become a a professional timbersport athlete. We’re both focused on our goals, leaving no time for feelings.

Easy as pie, right?

Not exactly. Because he shows up on our fake wedding day with my favorite flowers, builds me bookcases, and he calls me his wife every chance he gets.

So when I enter us in a wife carrying contest to beat his cheating ex, all bets are off. Running through the woods with my legs wrapped around his muscular body has me thinking this marriage of convenience is anything but.

But what happens when our year is up? Could I ask “Wood You Marry Me?” for real?

Author’s Note: Wood You Marry Me is a full-length, standalone lumberjack romance featuring a protective lumberjack, a sassy academic, and lots of wood chopping, tree climbing, and wife carrying. If you enjoy small-town shenanigans, possessive heroes, flirty banter, and red-hot spicy times, this is the book for you.

About the Series: Welcome to Lovewell Maine, where the moose outnumber the people and you can’t swing an axe without hitting a grumpy lumberjack.

Each book in the series is a standalone, however they are most fun when read in order.

Title: Lumberjacks…are my new obsession!
Review: To say I’m obsessed would be an actual understatement…this series has me enamored! I’m in love and so invested it’s not even funny.Tropes:• marriage of convenience• brothers best friend• she fell first (but he fell so much harder)• possessive hero (he says swoony shit like “You’re my wife” like are you kidding me!!)• wife carrying competition (I’ve never read or heard of it…now I need more of it, legit obsessed)• no third-act breakup (I love you, author)• Clive. 🤷🏼‍♀️😭 (that moose is something else, he had me cackling in the first book and this one too)• a little suspense added in! (Didn’t expect it, had me holding my breath when it happened, it was executed so well and was perfectly crafted into the story, and made it that much better!)Wow.Just absolutely wow.I adored this book! it had me hooked from the first sentence, the pacing was perfect and the characters were so easy to love and get completely immersed in. Remy and Hazel were so cute together. The book kinda starts with her throwing a blueberry pie at our man’s face 🫠 like a “Whoops my bad” type moment (it was completely on accident, lmao) the scene had me cackling. And a week later they get hitched…yep🤷🏼‍♀️ the why is because she has a health thing and needs insurance, she doesn’t have any but her brother's best friend has VERY good insurance…so they have a marriage of convenience agreement. One year. Help each other out. And then get divorced. But surprise, surprise 😏 things are a little difficult when they live together, have to train together for a wife-carrying competition…and just have such heated chemistry that it’s impossible to ignore it.This was *chefs kiss* the Author held their first kiss and any intimate moments until a little later into the book (pretty sure it was until 50-60% in) I loved it like that because it gave us time to see the characters individually, watch them interact with each other, and see those angst, tension-filled moments, which were just so damn yummy.I squealed seeing my babies from the first, book, 🥺 Henri and Alice!! Ugh, I love them.I’m so intrigued by so many potential love stories we may get with other characters in this book😩 like I’m dying here…I have zero clue why but Adele and Finn🫢👀 kinda dig it (though I romanticize anything so I could be so wrong lmao, they like said two words to each other aha)I mean it when I say to go read this! I adored it, the connection between the two! The communication, the angst, the built-up tension until both snapped and kissed! Ugh SO GOOD!I don’t even wanna go to into detail about my obsession with this book because it’s so good to just go in blind!! I ain’t kidding GO AND READ IT! That’s an order bestie, go and preorder this. It’s coming out in about two weeks,Here are some questions some may need answers to before reading this (some things in books can ruin it for me! So this is just to help some people out a lil)• is there any cheating? - Absolutely NOT! Zero cheating, kissing, or flirting with anyone. (Though there’s mention of cheating from his side, he got cheated on by his ex-fiancé, she’s only in one scene and I ended up loving it cus we see Remi and Hazel all close together😏)• OWD/OMD? - no! ( Thank God for that, I hate those tropes so much! Especially OWD) I should point out• standalone? - Yes you can read this as a standalone! But I recommend reading the first book, ( Remi’s brothers story, it’s amazing as well and so many funny moments as well as sweet and 🥵 moments)• third act breakup? - no! There isn’t at all, such a refreshing thing when this isn’t in a book!• is it worth the read? - HELL TO THE YES! I’m IN LOVE with these two, please, please, please go and read this when it comes out! You genuinely won’t regret it, I like cried when I finished it because it was that good.

Review: Cute book. Typical fake marriage, falls into real love story. I enjoyed it enough to where I’ll probably read the next one in the series.

Title: Charming marriage of convenience, brother's best friend, small town romance!
Review: Wood You Marry Me? by Daphne Elliot is the second book in the Lovewell Lumberjacks series, and be still my beating heart, I am head over heels in love with Remy and Hazel! As in, you better adore them too, or else, territory!Remy is sweet, charming, a dirty talker in bed, and struggling with how he fits into the world and in his family after experiencing loss. Hazel is a fighter, intelligent, focused, witty, endearing, always having worked for everything she's ever had, and only ever had her brother to rely on.For both, it's about accepting one's self, and the other, about becoming someone's cheerleader, and accepting the support in return. This, along with hilarity, poignancy, and the ever enjoyable yet frustrating antics of Clive, make this a captivating and easy to devour read! This story has it all! Marriage of convenience, brother's best friend, some family drama, overcoming the past, learning to value self worth, honesty, loyalty, and above all, love. I can't wait to read it all over again, and fall in love with whomever comes next in the series too!P. S. Remy can call me his wife, anytime!

Title: cute book
Review: Cute story, but too fast of a wrap up for me. The end leaving in a cliff hanger and having to download the extra chapter to see the end, not really my kind of book, but it’s a cute quick read that had me laughing out loud!

Title: Remy and Hazel
Review: Likable characters and good character development. Remy was insecure as the youngest of the family and never really felt like he belonged. Hazel was afraid of relationships and felt the need to have to rely on anyone other than her brother. The two will need to figure it out before they can find happiness.

Title: Cute series
Review: Wood You Marry Me is Book 2 in the Lovewell Lumberjack Series. This is a cute, easy read. Remy and Hazel marry as means to help each other out. She needs health insurance, and he needs a support system for his sports training and to get his life together since his ex cheated on him. He and Hazel have always been friends, but it quickly becomes more. The way they love and support each other is sweet and their chemistry 🔥🔥🔥. They also have fun moments and great banter, and I enjoyed the plot that went along with the story and appreciated the fact that there was no unnecessary 3rd act break up!! Add to all of that a bit of action and suspense, and you have a great series. I look forward to reading the future books.

Review: Oh I absolutely loved this story. Hazel really needs to catch a break and when a pesky gall bladder continues to cause her medical issues, her brother comes up with a suggestion that changes everything. To marry his best friend to be able to use his medical insurance. At first, Hazel fights it because she knows that tying herself to Remy, when she has always had a thing for him, would be a bad idea.Remy has been through the ringer himself and when his training (competitive lumberjack games) takes a hit, he knows things need to change. He sees this as a good opportunity to help each other so he pursues a marriage of convenience with an end date.Remy surprised me when the lines blur and it no longer feels like they are faking. His possessive nature was everything and his use of ‘my wife’ so so good!I loved how they learn to communicate with each other and how they help each other heal. The banter in this book had me smiling and the appearance of Clive the moose and his antics had me holding in my laughter.

Review: CW: character with cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation) and mentions of depression and substance addictionWho here doesn’t love a sexy lumberjack? And one that gets into a marriage of convenience and keeps calling her ‘my wife’. And is just really a great guy all in all? Remy and Hazel were an absolute treat. I loved the little hints we got of Remy in the first book, but nothing could have prepared me for how much I would love his book. Brother’s best friend, marriage of convenience, forced proximity, only one bed and a sexy lumberjack? I mean…this book is basically my catnip. And while Remy is all kinds of amazing (duh!), Hazel is really who stole my heart. She’s quirky without being overly so and she’s fun and interesting. There’s so much more to her than meets the eye and she captivates you from the moment you encounter her. Hazel and Remy’s relationship is also so wonderful—they’ve got years of history between them, so it’s not like they’re just falling into this new life randomly. But there’s also so much to consider before making those big decisions. And yet…it’s so beautiful.Plus, there’s the lumberjack games (or whatever it’s called) and that was absolutely thrilling to read through. Can’t wait to see what the other two siblings have to offer, because I am addicted to them already!

Review: Loving this series so far. Remy and Hazel make a lovely couple and I like the more realistic feel to the small town setting with issues relating to addiction and economic depression. The background mystery is rattling along well and this story has all my favourite tropes.

Review: I love thé way Daphne Elliot writers female heroines. They are take no prisoners, spicy, independent but when they fall they fall hard. And the guys always fall first. This is a great continuation of the first story on the series. Cannot wait to see what happens next.
