Title: America as it was in the early 1960s
Review: As a child, I watched "Route 66" with my dad - it was a favorite program in our house. As an adult, I wanted to revisit this series and view it from an adult point of view. It doesn't disappoint. Since the series was filmed on actual locations, in many small towns and large cities, it's a time capsule of what America was like in the early 1960s. I find it fascinating to watch, especially the episodes filmed in places that no longer exist (hotels, motels, amusement parks, factories, etc.). As for the characters, Tod and Buz have that certain, undeniable magical buddy - buddy charm that is so appealing. Unfortunately, mid way through season 3, George Maharis (Buz) became ill and had to quit the series. He was replaced by Glenn Corbett, whose character has the same rough edges as Buz, but none of the charm, which, unfortunately lost the buddy - buddy magic.

Title: Don't miss out on watching this great series from the Sixties.
Review: Thank you Amazon for making this series available. Watching the episode which resulted the the actor playing Buzz to get very ill was difficult. The 3rd series was then cut short. But what a great show!! Anyone nostalgic for the sixties will love these excellently scripted episodes. The high production values are amazing compared to TV shows today.

Title: DVD NOT GOOD
Review: A couple of the discs read "bad." The last disc for the season did not play at all. Disappointed!

Title: An important snapshot of America in the early sixties
Review: Route 66 was an iconic series when it first aired in 1961-1964. It remains so, largely due to excellent performances, crisp B&W cinematography, solid scripts often written on the fly and utilizing various locations, and that each episode provides an uncanny snapshot of American life and culture just before we became engulfed in and by the Vietnam War. In fact, in 1963 Sterling Silliphant introduced a new series regular midway into this, the third season: a troubled Green Beret returning from Vietnam as an advisor, played splendidly by Glenn Corbett.

Title: Great DVD set of the final season
Review: Good quality reproductions of the actual series. Clear and crisp images . Bonus material includes many of the commericals that were part of the 1963 season. good storylines and wide variety of each predicament the two got into. Glenn Corbett was the replacement for George, but unfortunately the public (then) couldn't wrap themselves around a new side kick and the show ended. Corbett had very good acting regardless of he being thrown into a show's demise.

Title: ROUTE 66 SEASON 3
Review: By this I was old enough to understand the THRILL of the Road that my older brother found in Season 1 and 2. I also made up my mind that is was going to buy a BLACK Corvette, which wasn't available at that time but I didn't know that. That 63 Split Window Coupe was my baby.... and we were going to SEE AMERICA when I was 18... 5 years later.

Title: ONLY HALF A SEASON!
Review: I bought this season early last year. But I didn’t start to watch it until about last June. I wish I had because only half of the season worked. The four discs which were obviously the second half of the season were completely blank. They were tried on two DVD Players and a Laptop. It was to late to return it. So I wound up buying Season Three Volume 2 separately. It’s needless to say that I was very unhappy because I paid about $25.00 for this selection. The odd thing is, I had a feeling that I should have bought it by the volume in the first place. Following one’s first mind must have some reasoning behind the thought.

Title: Highly recommended for fans the these three masters
Review: For fans of these three masters, it is so much fun to see them together again playing the old roles. Surprisingly, Chaney is the standout and seems to really relish his roles (contrary to his attitude at the time when he made the original movies). Also is a great bit of time machine for classic 60's TV
