Title: "Right where he belongs!!"
Review: I hadn't noticed this upon receiving my album from Amazon, but if you look at the 'very bottom' of the back of the album it clearly states: 'Originally released on cd only". First time on vinyl! That being said, this is where the original release belonged,...right on wax. Although sound compression is better on cd, it is not about lossless sound quality; What it comes down to is this..." James Brown" belongs on vinyl period point-blank. This is what's doing him, justice folks. The quality, in general, is on point...what you're getting from this first-time release on wax is a "timeless classic" nothing more or less. Enjoy the "Godfather of Soul" as he was intended for you to enjoy. As a kid hearing 'Papa's Got A Brand new Bag' or 'Try Me' was 'soul grabbing, & emotional. If you were a kid hearing "JB" meant that you mimicked every single move of his w/o practice. This is how you were meant to enjoy 'James Brown' and all these classic hits, just make sure you have a hand towel handy because you "will" relive all "20 all-time classics" on your feet.

Title: Great Sounding Album OK quality of the Album Jacket
Review: The sound, and the mastering is on point. Im not so sure that 180 Gram vinyl is a gimmick or not. Some albums which are 130 + grams (OG Gordy, Tamla,) sound great. Very low noise gate. Running a stock Audio Technica LP120 1st Generation with stock AT95e Cartridge tracking at 2.0 Grams using onboard Pre-amp and External Tube Amp for warmness, and powered Yamaha speakers. so nothing Fancy. and the sound is very very good. If you dont have any JB albums like me I highly recommend this album. I love that they didnt put too many songs on each side. When ever there are too many songs on one side and they are around 4-5 minutes each that album will 9 times out of 10 sound like trash.

Review: This is a great single disc collection. For those James Brown fans who feel his four CD "Star Time" set is too much JB for their liking, this "20 All Time Greatest Hits" is a worthy, albeit condensed, alternative. (The other James Brown CD you should consider for you collections is "James Brown Live At The Apollo" from 1962.)
