Title: Easy to use, does a great job.
Review: Compared to trying to capture old movies with a camcorder on a screen this is light years ahead. The speed seemed slow at first until you realize that it is scanning every clip. Start a movie and walk away for a bit. Works great and the output is the same as the original.

Title: Not worth it !!!!!
Review: 1. had to manually pull film.2. keep repeating the same frame.3. terrible instruction book.4. Noisy, and very slow.5. spent 10 hours total trying to copy 17inch reel of film. Still had a bad copy.I was very disappointed in this product after trying it.It looked good, and I was excited to try it. I have a number of films, I wanted to copy.

Title: This converter seems to work very well.
Review: This converter seems to work as advertised. It would be nice to have some expanded information in the Users Guide to explain how to frame the film and adjustments necessary to get a good conversion. However, after searching YouTube I was able to understand how to tweak everything and get great results. The unit is front heavy (especially when converting from a full 7 inch reel) and "leans" to the front while operating. This causes the unit to be very susceptible to tipping over. Also, the Super 8 shaft adjusters do not hold the reels tight enough which resulted in the back reel falling off the shaft because of the forward lean and loose-fitting shaft adapter. I ended up putting supporting the front of the unit with pieces of felt so that it leaned back slightly and reversed the Back Reel shaft adjuster which effectively holds the reel in place during operation. These small problems were very easy to overcome and the operation and resulting converted videos turned out very nice. In my opinion this unit produces an excellent finished product at a very nice price!

Title: This thing is SLOW! And... it has a few problems.
Review: The good thing is it does provide a method to transfer your old 8mm and Super8mm home movies to .mp4 digital format. But it does that one-frame-at-a-time! Very slow! It takes about 30 minutes to do a simple 3 minute film. My family splices home movies with 5 films on 7" reel, shows in 15 to 20 minutes, but this machine takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to scan! Now, there are other converters that click right along and will scan your 8mm films much quicker, but... they cost a lot more!Don't even THINK about using this machine to rewind after you've finished a reel! There is a method, but.. just set up your old movie projector and use it to rewind, much faster! This thing tends to tip forward (toward you). I stick the little plastic container that the 32GB SD card came in just under the front edge of the scanner to make it tilt slight back so it won't fall forward on you. Thanks for the 32GB SD chip! My cheapie 35MM slide scanner did not come with one!The tiny viewing screen on this machine is pretty much worthless. You will want to use the TV connector cord to any old TV that has a RCA video (usually yellow) Input. Watch the scan on the TV instead of on this machine. You will always want to adjust the frame thing with each film. The scanner camera always seems to be a wee bit out of vertical adjustment.Last thing: There is a comment printed on the front of the machine that says to make sure you put the film UNDER the three 'white tabs'. Well. there's only ONE White tab. The other two are the front and end tabs, and they are black and very hard to see! Keep a flashlight and magnify lens handy! For the price, its workable, but... so slow! Pay more for a fast scanner if you have many movies to scan!

Title: I WAS Super Pleased!!!!
Review: Edit: No fault to seller, but the machine stopped working after just a few reels. Return was quick and easy. I ordered this as a replacement machine for another brand machine that I've used for the last decade. I ordered this particlar unit because it will accomodate the larger reels. This machine is so much better than my previous one. It converts to an mp4 that doesn't need editing!! With my other machine, I had to edit the film at 54% because it rendered out in high speed...not this one. It comes out in perfect speed. The picture quality is great! I am very pleased!!!!! Service was the seller was very quick and efficient as well. Thank you!

Title: Stable recorder
Review: It is very easy to use with a mini disk. You can tell it is an older design with the Mini USB, no micro but doesn't matter because it works. This captures one frame at a time so there is no bluring to worry about. Works great.

Title: Wanted great things, got a simple camera
Review: The motor in this device doesnât pull the tape through usually, but even if it does, good luck lining it up.I would have gone straight to the manufacturer, but Iâm not sure how to do that. It will maybe do great for one or two films, but then it will disappointâ¦. Donât waste your money on this

Title: Not what I hoped for
Review: Too difficult to load reels. Plays frame by frame and jams frequently
