Title: Beautiful calming music

Title: The real Enya. The GOOD Enya.
Review: With all the talk about what to call the music, the voice layering, creative genius, etheralness, Wicca, the appropriateness of a friggin' dance remix of Orinoco Flow, etc., etc., let's all remember one thing...she's a Celtic traditionalist. (And from what I heard, a devout Catholic, hence someone not really into the New Age lifestyle, but let's not go there.) Not a trendsetter or pioneer, and *absolutely* not a pop princess. Like most of us, she's at her best when she's working within her element.That's what's so great about Sheperd Moons and makes it stand out from even the fine Watermark and The Memory of Trees (I found A Day Without Rain a big step in the wrong direction, particularly after hearing that mega-sappy Only Time played on the radio about 25 million times). She's not trying to appeal to a market or gain mainstream respectability. All she's doing is making beautiful Celtic music for its own sake, much like she's done her whole life, and adding her own personal touches to it.Enya, more than anyone else, has the amazing ability to take any song...anything at all...and make it sound nice. But when she has an organic, unforced, straight-from-the-heart song to begin with, the result is pure beauty. It works so well, she doesn't even need to use her voice (Lothlorien and No Holly For Miss Quinn) to get an enchanting result.The signature track is Smaointe, a six minute journey through tempo changes, Celtic chants, and a plethora of instruments (love that horn solo). For more mainstream tastes, there's Carribbean Blue and Book of Days (which is about as poppy as she should've ever gotten).If you could buy only one Enya album...no, scratch that. Buy only one Enya album. This.

Title: My Favourite
Review: This is my favourite of Enya's albums and that's a tough call. It latched onto my heart and didn't let go. Et itur ad astra. Yes, "to the stars we will go." She promises a trip to the stars and she delivers. We hear the Shepard Moons, the sound of Caribbean Blue, and Ebudae to name just a few. In the end, it rates an entry in a Book of Days. The album is crawling with classic Enya. I will pick this album up before any other, including the new Very Best collection which has most of the best of Watermark or I'd be gritting my teeth for second place. It was while I was listening to this album I started to really wonder about the complex relationship that must exist between Enya,Roma and Nicky Ryan. No doubt the music has evolved over the years but I will pick this every time. That's my opinion, or the songs closest to my heart.

Title: Really enjoyable to listen to
Review: A great easy listening album for times when you need to relax. I was searching many, many places in shops in my area to try and find a cheap new copy of it. This copy was not what I would call cheap but at NZ$25.00 it is still nice that I don't have to go on searching.

Title: ...a time to grieve.
Review: I heard a track from this CD recently and it brought back memories of my late wife and I listeningto it on our road trips. She loved Enya. Maybe I left the 'Shepherd Moons' CD in her car when Itraded it in, I don't know...but it was lost. But I needed to own this wonderful CD again. My wife has been gone for over five years now, and I've moved on with my life- but when I needto grieve, as we all sometimes do, I listen-and remember...

Title: Shephers Moons
Review: Great CD. If you love the soft celtic type music get this CD. My daughter purchased this as a cassette when it first came out (I don't think CD were around at that time) anyway we played it so much it wore out. She purchased a CD but when she moved the CD went with her, so I have purchased my own. Personally I belive this is her best work that I have heard. Highly recommend it for relaxing, reading, a rainy day, or just because you like the music; to listen too.

Review: Sooooooooooo Calming and Soothing. Shepherd Moons is so Relaxing. Enya's Music is just so out of this world. I have all her Cd's and love her Music.I think of days on the beach, flying Kite and just being stress free and care free when listening to Shepard Moons and any of her Cd's.If you love peace and calm Shepherd Moons is for you.

Review: MAGIQUE! mon album preferé de Enya et pas pour rien...magnifique, on est transporté dans un monde inqualifiable tellement il semble beau et apaisant, Enya sait faire avec ces choses-là et les 12 chansons de l'albums sont tout magistralement merveilleuses......des musiques au piano, des chants doux et calmes......une luminescence, une lumiere qui nous tire des tenebres...
