From the New York Times best-selling author of The Proposal and a "rising star in the romance genre" (Entertainment Weekly) comes a dazzling new novel about a spontaneous holiday vacation that turns into an unforgettable romance.
Vivian Forest has been out of the country a grand total of one time, so when she gets the chance to tag along on her daughter Maddie’s work trip to England to style a royal family member, she can’t refuse. She’s excited to spend the holidays taking in the magnificent British sights, but what she doesn’t expect is to become instantly attracted to a certain private secretary, his charming accent, and unyielding formality.
Malcolm Hudson has worked for the Queen for years and has never given a personal, private tour - until now. He is intrigued by Vivian the moment he meets her and finds himself making excuses just to spend time with her. When flirtatious banter turns into a kiss under the mistletoe, things snowball into a full-on fling.
Despite a ticking timer on their holiday romance, they are completely fine with ending their short, steamy affair come New Year’s Day...or are they?

Title: Enjoy an insiderâs peek at the royals!
Review: I had so much fun reading this charming book! Vivianâs life tracks in so many ways mine have. I admire her family first attitude and her ability to keep her adult life private from Maddie. Her ability to nurture and care for her clients and family is inspiring. The whirlwind romance with Malcolm is hot and left me wanting to follow their adventures. My daughter is on sabbatical in England until January and Iâm determined to find the best of the best scone when I visit! If anyone knows how to get in touch with Julia, message með

Title: Good read
Review: Similar to "How Stella got her grove back". It was a delightful and effortless read that touched upon the vulnerabilities of being a single mother who is dating discreetly without revealing her daughter's existence. The story also emphasized on the importance of having a supportive and respectful adult daughter who desires nothing but happiness for her mother. Moreover, it showcased the dilemma of choosing between one's personal desires and sacrificing one's personal life in favor of work. I found the book to be quite engaging and thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Title: A silver romance I wanted to love
Review: Vivian, an older Black woman, is a social worker in Oakland facing a promotion she doesn't want and thus an intriguing life choice. Her daughter, a stylist for royalty, invites Vivian to accompany her to London while she styles a duchess. Vivian never takes vacations, so this is an enjoyable break for her. While on the royal grounds, Vivian meets Malcolm, the Queen's private secretary who is also Black. They hit it off but can they end up together?Although I wanted to love this book--there aren't enough silver romances, and we should celebrate the few there are--it didn't draw me in emotionally. The one situation I found interesting was when Vivian asks Malcolm probing questions about being a minority in an oh-so-White situation. There was emotional intimacy there, but almost nowhere else. Also, there were 190 uses of the word "laugh" as a dialogue tag. The fact I would even notice this--okay, enough said.

Title: Christmas Romance
Review: âRoyal Holidayâ was a really cute holiday rom-com involving royalty, postcards, and horses. The story followed a typical Hallmark boy-meets-girl plot, but it has enough plot twists to be a page-turner. It was a little slow and hard to get into at points, but it always found its way back to the good stuff.

Title: Women in their 50s are not done
Review: Once I got past envisioning Prince William and Princess Kate, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was nice to read about a man and a woman both in their 50s.

Review: 2.5 starsI have been putting off writing this review. I really donât like having to write down my thoughts about a book that I didnât enjoy. It makes me feel sad. Especially when I went into the story with such high hopes.Iâm starting to realize that Guillory is a hit or miss author for me. I have read four books in this series. I loved two of them and disliked two of them. The common theme of the ones I did not enjoy is lack of chemistry.Royal Holiday was full of promise. The setting, the age of the main couple, and the time of year were all things that initially drew me in. What didnât work for me was that the connection between the couple was so lackluster. By the time we got to the adversity in the relationship, I just didnât care. The romance should be center stage. I should want to root for the couple to be together. That just didnât happen.I did really enjoy The Wedding Date and The Wedding Party. So, I will continue on in this series. I have faith that the next book will be better.

Review: Oh my. At first, as a twenty-year UK resident, I was irked about how MUCH Jasmine got wrong about the UK. And I was rolling my eyes at Vivian living with Megan and Harry. But Malcolm and Vivian were perfect, both individually and together. And very quickly I forgot about what was wrong and began admiring what was right. The Queen was perfect! And I loved their conflicts and how they would get offended but then work through the difficulties. They were excellent at âusing their wordsâ even if sometimes it was hard. They were so good for each other. And as an American who is married to a Brit, their whole relationship after Vivian got home felt real. They were mature and intelligent. I LOVED this one.

Review: The loveliest little snack from the talented Jasmine Guillory. I only wish Iâd been able to read it more slowly, so I could spend more time with these characters. What an absolute delight!
