Title: High quality vacuum has outstanding performance
Review: After using a series of Mighty Mite vacuums, I decided to invest in one of higher quality which would last more than a few years. I'm very happy I chose this one. My previous vacuums were a chore to use; they were hard to pull, fell over when I tried to turn corners too tightly, blasted me with a hot wind and, in the case of my most recent vacuum, the hose frequently collapsed in on itself. This vacuum has none of those problems. It glides along and turns corners easily, the wind it produces feels like a gentle breeze and the hose is of great construction which I can't see collapsing in on itself. It's also amazingly quiet compared to my previous vacuums.The design of the vacuum was well thought out. The onboard storage for the accessories is very convenient and tidy. The hose and floor attachment can be docked with the vacuum standing or laying on the ground, which also makes for neater storage. The rather lengthy retractable cord is very convenient, as is the power button which can be used with your foot.So far the vacuum has performed admirably. I have three kids, two dogs and a Florida yard which is largely dirt until the rainy season hits, so my floors need cleaning a few times each day. I'd resorted to sweeping because of how frustrating my last vacuum was with it's collapsing hose. Yesterday I ended up vacuuming three times because this Miele is so easy to use and does such a great job. I used the extra wide hard floor attachment and was able to catch all the dirt in a jiffy. I started out on the hard floor power setting during my first round of cleaning. In the evening, I used the quiet power setting and found it performed just as well on my floors, which are all hard.In sum, while the price may seem steep if you're used to cheap vacuums like I was, its performance and expected longevity actually make it a great value. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.

Title: Powerful especially for size/weight of Vacuum
Review: I have had a FilterQueen that we bought in 1988. Great machine, but over 30 years old and the inside of the chamber was rusting. A new tub/chamber would cost me more than the new Miele did. And no service center anywhere near me for the FilterQueen. I had bought an upright Bissell Pet Hair Eraser type vacuum but gave it away because I had trouble changing tools and working with it due to arthritis in my hands. The Miele is like magic, everything is easy to use. It has bags and two filters but they are super easy to change even for me. The onboard tools glide onto the wand. This think is just so well made. The suction is so much better than I expected even with the bag close to full. I really love this vacuum and if I outlast it, I'll be buying another one.

Title: I AM OBSESSED
Review: It nearly killed me to spend >$500 on a vacuum cleaner, but this thing has CHANGED MY LIFE and is worth every cent! My biggest house-chore that I previously dreaded was floor care, and this Miele with the extra-wide floor attachement to protect my brand new floors is a game changer. I fired my cleaning lady, in fact, so it’s paid for itself! This vacuum is LIGHT. That is half the battle. It’s so easy to whirl around, and you can easily hold the canister in one hand and the wand in the other if you needed to vacuum stairs. The extra-wide floor attachment gets the job done in HALF the time. The suction quality is superior to Dyson, Bissell, and any other vacuum I have owned. I bought a HEPA filters from the manufacturer, so in a year when it comes time to replace the filter, I will have a better one than the filter it comes with. The retractable cord is a must and so helpful; I only looked at models with this feature. I agonized about whether to get a bagless model or one that uses bags. I finally came to the conclusion that life is short, and I did not want to deal with the mess and hassle of cleaning the canister and filters all the time. This was the right decision! Yes, it’s an added expense to purchase high-quality bags, esp directly from Miele but I wouldn’t chance ruining this magnificent machine with cheap dupe replacements available. This is not an exaggeration: When I spill coffee grounds or need to clean up pet hair, I LOOK FORWARD to bringing the Miele out of the closet. THIS VACUUM BRINGS ME JOY. Lastly, remarks on pets and carpets: I have multiple pets. For this reason and personal aesthetic preferences, I have mostly hardwood floors and the attachments that come with this model are more than sufficient. For the two large area rugs I have, I don’t even switch attachments. The extra-wide hardwood floor attachment is just fine if I go slowly enough. However, if I had a home with mostly carpet, I think the provided second attachment would probably be great. That is, I don’t think the “pet” models are necessary for most people with pets. My animals shed like crazy, and I’m so pleased with this choice. My home has never been more spotless.
