Your yard should be a sanctuary. Defend your space against mosquitoes and more with the Dynatrap Outdoor Insect Trap. This clever device is incredibly easy to use - simply plug it in, turn it on, and leave it on 24/7 to effectively disrupt the mosquito breeding cycle. Maintenance is just as effortless. When the catch basket is full, you can empty it with the touch of a button. Plus, the easy-to-change LED bulb lasts 6x longer than fluorescent bulbs, so you don’t need to replace it often. The Dynatrap Outdoor Insect Trap uses advanced technology to deliver unmatched control of a wide range of flying insects, including mosquitoes, flies, moths, gnats, wasps, yellow jackets, beetles, and no-see-ums. Here's how it works: the LED bulb emits UV rays that attract flying insects day and night. As insects approach the device, a powerful fan pulls them into the catch basket. Once inside, a patented damper keeps them securely trapped. With a coverage area of up to 1 acre, this weather-resistant trap is perfect for protecting extra large yards. To setup your insect-free zone, we recommend placing your trap 3-6 ft off the ground and 20-40 ft away from areas of enjoyment. This will ensure that the trap is in the path of flying insects and drawing them away from areas where you and your family relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Discreet Design – The sleek green finish will effortlessly blend in with your décor and the whisper-quiet fan will make you forget it’s even there

Title: This trap definitely works as advertised! You will see how well every time you empty the basket.
Review: I was more than a little skeptical when I first heard about the DynaTrap on a radio Garden show that claimed it can cover 1/2 to 1 acre of property, but I have trusted the shows host on a number of things so I ordered it through Amazon. It took several weeks to arrive, as they were backlogged with orders as I am sure they are each Spring to Summer. The trap feels very light so you won't have to worry about a heavy or large hook to hang it. I installed it on the far edge of the patio but still under cover. I did not want the rain to soak it or the sun's UV rays to degrade it. I am a little concerned about the operating life, being left on 24/7. So far so good. I have had it operating for a month now and I am really pleased that it is so quiet. How it works: The light stay on continually and attracts flying insects day and night! When the insects get close, the fan underneath the light pulls them through the grate and traps them in the basket below. I have seen all different sizes of insects in the trap.Problems: I have only had one problem with the trap. I came out one day last week and the light was on but the fan was not turning. I unplugged the cord and found that a rather large June Bug was caught between the fan and the grate below it. These tough little bugs seem like they are made of a hard plastic and and this one was too big to make it trough the grate and was wedged in there, stopping the fan blade. I was think that perhaps this could have burned up the electric fan motor but after removing the bug and plugging it back in, it worked just fine. Apparently they anticipated this happening in the motor design. Nice job Dyna Trap!Operation: I empty the trap about twice a week and estimate that there is about one full cup of bugs inside. Some of the bugs that were apparently caught recently were still alive in the basket so I keep a can of bug killer close by and spray the bugs after I dump them out. (No since letting them take off and bother us again.) I probably should empty it more often because you can detect a slight odor from the dead bugs if you leave them in there too long. (Just a suggestion) Although I did not notice the smell from the patio because the fan blowing over them disperses the smell. Just the same, you may want to empty it more often.I am please with the quiet operation and clearly effective way it works, and have noticed a REAL difference sitting outside!. My backyard is about 1/2 acre and I still occasionally notice a fly by, but I'm not bothered like before. Even when I go out at night with a flashlight, I am not attacked by swarms of bugs. It has made a difference that is noticeable!

Title: IMPORTANT: Use with the correct mosquito bait for your region
Review: This will not trap mosquitos without bait because it's only a UV light. If you are in the south (I am in Alabama), the best bait for our mosquitos is Atrakta (or any other bait with the same ingredients). If you live in the rest of the US, both Atrakta and Octenol will work. If you live in Canada, use Octenol. There are different species in different regions that are attracted to different baits - Octenol will not work in the south!I have about 3 acres, but primarily need my deck and front yard to be protected. I have two 1 acre DynaTraps, both with Atrakta mosquito bait in the net. One is 20 feet from my deck and the other is 50 feet in the other direction to also protect my barn, garden, and chicken coop. I also have a 1/2 acre DynaTrap for the front yard.Replace the baits every 2 months. Expensive? Absolutely! Preferable to the half-solution of spraying your yard with pesticide, which won't even fix your mosquito problem? Absolutely. Baited DynaTrap overkill (get more than you think you'll need) is the best mosquito solution out there, and its better for pollinators, your yard's health, and your health.

Title: Works well, I think.
Review: This certainly catches a LOT of moths, not as many mosquitoes. It could have been a low mosquito year. It was also so smokey this summer we didn't sit outside much, so I can't say if it kept the mosquitoes down a significant amount or not. Our friend who recommended it says it does, so we'll see next year. You do have to string a cord or run power to it, and we have to dump ours every 3 weeks or so. It doesn't kill the bugs, you have to dump into a plastic bag and then they die off. The chickens liked the extra protein.

Title: Catches plenty of flying insects
Review: Works really well for months. Have not seen many mosquitoes in the trap over the last month, but we don’t have an abundance of mosquitoes in the Seattle area. Well made, quite, easy to set up and clean out the bugs from the trap. Holding up well in both our rainy weather and hot summer Sun. We are pleased with our purchase and definitely recommend this trap. I think it would we wise to also purchase the mosquito attractant pouches to increase the odds of trapping more mosquitoes.

Title: If you want to eradicate moths, this is your guy. Doesn't do diddle against mosquitoes.
Review: Were your parents killed by moths? Did the moths perpetrate a genocide against your people? Tired of moths cutting you off in traffic? Well this product can help you eradicate all moths that stand in your path. Super awesome if you are best friends with mosquitoes because those little guys slip right through the holes leaving just those diabolical moth cretins behind to get buried by the weight of its brethren. Mosquitoes will thank you for buying this product.

Title: The best so far
Review: This works much better than a bug zapper and seems to get more bugs. I wish it had a day / dusk switch but it does the job if it's on all the time. I put it next to a fly trap and it got some of them as well. I'm not sure it catches any mosquitoes without an attractant.

Title: Disappointed
Review: This u it seems to only be attracting moths. My old unit, it took care of several different types of flying bugs & mosquitoes. At least this dynatrap is a 1/3 of what it cost me for my very large, first DynaTrap. It's only been plugged in for about a week & a half. It works, great quality, very bright, easy to hang. I'm going to try moving it to the shadier side of my yard this evening. Hoping for better results! I will not give up! I believe in DynaTrap! I like the newer, lightweight 1 acre option. It's easier to move around! And it looks great! Price is even better!

Title: A bug catching machine!
Review: Set this up at our cabin in the woods and after a week the large "hopper" is half full of bugs. Quite operation without to constant popping that traditional bug zappers have. Seems to have really reduced the amount of mosquitos we see in the evening. I set this up on a timer to run from dusk to dawn.
