From Stephen King comes the terrifying tale of a town besieged by evil. The inhabitants of a picturesque, sleepy little town on a small island off the coast of Maine find themselves completely cut off from the rest of the world when they are hit by the worst storm of the century. As snow steadily buries everything familiar, terror arrives in the form of an evil stranger. As streets disappear and an eerie darkness envelops the town, a series of bizarre murders creates a nightmare of fear. With no help coming from the outside world and no end to the storm in sight, the townspeople are forced to take drastic action before it's too late.

Title: A Masterpiece of Menace: Stephen King's "The Storm of the Century"
Review: In the realm of television horror, "The Storm of the Century" stands as a testament to Stephen King's unrivaled ability to weave tales that grip the soul and refuse to let go. This chilling mini-series, directed by Craig R. Baxley, unfolds like a dark, atmospheric tapestry, leaving an indelible mark on the genre. From the first snowflake to the bone-chilling conclusion, "The Storm of the Century" immerses viewers in a psychological thriller that transcends the boundaries of ordinary horror. The picturesque setting of Little Tall Island becomes the canvas for a narrative that combines supernatural dread with the complexities of human nature.Colm Feore's portrayal of Andre Linoge, the enigmatic antagonist, is nothing short of mesmerizing. Feore embodies the character with a perfect blend of charisma and malevolence, making Linoge a figure that lingers in the recesses of the viewer's mind long after the storm has passed. What sets this mini-series apart is its profound exploration of morality, community dynamics, and the choices that define us. As the island grapples with Linoge's cryptic demands, the tension escalates to an almost unbearable level. Each character, expertly portrayed by the ensemble cast, contributes to the intricate tapestry of fear and suspense. The atmospheric cinematography, coupled with the haunting score by Gary Chang, elevates "The Storm of the Century" to a level of horror craftsmanship that few can match. The blizzard becomes a character in itself, its relentless fury mirroring the psychological tempest that unfolds within the minds of the island's inhabitants. In true Stephen King fashion, the narrative unfolds with unexpected twists, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats until the final, unforgettable revelation. "The Storm of the Century" is not just a horror mini-series; it's a masterclass in storytelling that transcends the medium. For aficionados of psychological horror and those seeking a tale that lingers in the shadows of the mind, "The Storm of the Century" is a timeless gem that continues to haunt the dreams of those brave enough to face its storm. An absolute must-watch for anyone who appreciates the artistry of fear.

Review: stephen king's STORM OF THE CENTURY screenplay written by stephen kingis a TV mini series broadcasted over 3nights way back in 1998 at 257mins so about 85min each nightwell Kino Lorber have reissued the mini series again on DVD thou, not blu-ray for some reason.it's 2 discs inside standard dvd case, part 1 & 2 of 85min runtime each part is on Disc 1, part 3 is on Disc 2there's no chapter selection just play option, audio setup and subtitles optionin terms of picture quality i thought Kino Lorber would've HD mastered the film atleastas they do HD master their dvd reissues but no seems to me the 1:33:1 picture quality is the same as the old 1999 dvd release so about 6-7/10 for picture quality and 5/10 for sound mix which is 5.1 Dolby digital mixif the mini series was upgraded to HD quality then the picture will be more sharper and clearer close to 9.5/10and the sound mix wouldve been boosted up to 5.1 master mix but tragically notEXTRAS- well only 1 extra stephen king and Director Craig Baxley's audio commentary carried over from the old 1999 dvd version but surprisingly the commentary is worth listening to stephen king is very informative about the films production, there's no TV trailer of the series just the commentaryso 2/5 stars for this dvd reissue mainly a recycle of the old 1999 dvd version
