Title: Great Value overall plus Free 3 year updates and wifi capability
Review: This is a professional level bi-directional scan tool at a very reasonable cost for all its functionality and build quality. Very sturdy construction, comfortable to hold due to the rubber sides and stand arm allows you to hang it from the steering wheel or prop up on flat surface. Good screen quality. Includes a heavy duty storage case with connectors and wires. Updates are easy with wifi, good quality OB2 connector, easily recognizes vehicle/VIN by just plugging in. The wifi adds another layer of ease of use due its automatic emails of scan reports and internet connectivity to search for info on the same device. It's essentially a wifi connected heavy duty 8" Android tablet. You can take, store, and email photos of your repair work. Free 3 year updates is a huge benefit. I contacted XTOOL customer service for some information and they got back to me within hours and were very helpful. The more I use different functions, the more I really like it. Would recommend you check out reviews by professional techs on youtube to see all its capabilities. As a backyard mechanic, I need all the features to work on newer models with the free 3 year updates and have the capability to work on older vehicles as well. Would buy again for sure.

Title: The D8W saved me lots of money and time!
Review: I love how easy and straightforward this tool is to use. I bought it to install a PMI on my Ford Flex and it worked great, paid for itself with that alone! Now I’m using it on my other vehicles and it’s just as good. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bi-directional scanner!

Title: Best All-Around Tool in my Garage
Review: The XTOOL D8BT scanning tool is feature rich and more than just a scan tool. Its database of vehicles covers just about every modern car on the road today, and stays current with automatic updates if you choose that setting. You can read and reset fault codes, test components, and even customize many settings in late model cars. If you're a DIY'er, shade-tree mechanic, or even a master tech, this tool is invaluable.With other scan tools, reading fault codes is pretty standard, and cheaper options certainly exist that do a fine job. However, with this being an Android based tablet computer, the fault codes are not only displayed, but clicking the links brings you to online resources that explain the typical causes and repairs needed in plain language. This is invaluable, even if you decide to bring the car in for professional repairs, to avoid any surprise costs or unscrupulous mechanics.Additionally, the tool uses 2-way communication to access a variety of maintenance functions. On my BMW, replacing the battery requires registration with the ECU so that the system charges the battery appropriately. This tool performs that function, whereas in the past I needed a trip to the dealership, incurring a 1 hour labor charge. Likewise, when bleeding brake fluid, you can access the ABS system for a full flush. It's the same with cycling water pumps, radiator fans, interior electronics... Virtually any ECU controlled function in your car is accessible for diagnostics using this tool.Being a tablet design, the system is pretty rugged with a protective casing that is easy to hold securely. The back features a flip-out plastic stand to prop the device up on a dashboard or console. The bluetooth unit that I purchased comes with a transmitter that plugs into the OBD II port and wirelessly syncs to the device (powered thru the port - no batteries needed). The battery life on the tablet will run down after several straight hours of use, but a charger is provided, along with a handy protective plastic case.While the cost of this tool may make it seem like a luxury item, I can say that I've already recouped 75% of the investment in the first month of using it, just from avoiding dealerships and pro service. The tool's many features make it as versatile and indispensable as any quality set of wrenches. And, I know that the device will work on any car that I own in the future. I highly recommend this tool for anyone who routinely maintains their own vehicles.

Title: Solid product with extensive features
Review: I am not a professional auto-technician, but I have worked on a large assortment of cars and light trucks for many years. I have used several OBD2 scan tools, including the original Xtool-D8. I have found this tool to be the most useful (for my needs) in terms of it's feature set, portability, and functionality. What I like most about the D8-BT model is it’s bluetooth feature, which sets it apart from it’s cousin the (D8), and most of the competitors at this price point. My only concern when ordering this upgraded bluetooth model, was whether the bluetooth version would perform at the same level in terms of speed and connectivity. I am happy to report that I did not experience any noticeable lag or problems with connectivity. One reason I chose to upgrade from my previous scanners, has to do with portability. Bluetooth does not require you to be tethered to the traditional 16pin or other manufacturer's diagnostic cables in a way that would inhibit your movement in any way. For example, I was needing to change the transmission fluid in a sealed transmission for a Lexus. As many know, this requires you to monitor the temperature of the fluid. Having the convenience of portability, just makes it enormously easier. You can have the D8-BT under the car during the process. And yes, the D8-BT enables you to monitor transmission temperature and much more. This tool is not the least expensive among the higher-end options that are available, but it is in my view the most cost-effective in it’s price bracket. It has all the features of the original (D8), plus the added convenience of Bluetooth.

Title: Great Scanner Tool and Excellent Customer Service!
Review: This tool is right for you if you have a Honda Accord cylinder 2,3, and a random misfire. My car only runs 20 mph max after I replaced a crankshaft sensor. So, I bought this helpful tool to help the crankshaft relearn. Everything worked great after I relearned the crankshaft with this tool.I also use this tool to reset the oil life and copy car keys as well.Phoebe, the customer service representative, is the best.She contacted me many times to ensure I got what I needed to get the job done.Overall, it is a great tool and excellent customer service! It's worth every penny! Thank you.
