Title: I love Piece O' Cake
Review: I love Piece O' Cake, which sadly is no longer available that I can see. The one player split, other players choose mechanic which both games use is simple and fun. This is a really well made game. The pieces are made on strong thick stock and the artwork looks great. Perversely, my only issue with the game is that it is too well made. It's a perfect game night game, but its size and weight make it difficult to fit in my bag and carry to game nights. Piece O' Cake has a much smaller box and is easier for people to bring along; I wish it could be offered again. I'd happily buy both to keep NY Slice at home for the family and take Cake with me for group gaming. Or perhaps a less well made, but lighter travel version could be produced? Honestly though, it's a great game, easy to learn, fun for everyone and a wonderful game night filler.

Title: Fun family game with surprising depth.
Review: We've played several games of this so far, and even our 6 year-old daughter agrees it is fun. It's a simple concept, each round players take turns dividing up a randomly assembled pizza into as many sections as there are players. Each player then takes turns choosing a section to take. The person who divided the pizza chooses last. From this simple concept arises some surprising complex strategic elements as you compete to get the most slices of each of the different types of pizzas. Do you go for the high-value slices, hoping nobody else gets more than you (or ties you - resulting in no points for either of you!); or do you scrounge up the cheap slices hoping to rack up a slew of points?. Add to this things like random Daily Specials which can alter the game-play for not only that round, but future rounds, and the decision to eat any pepperoni pieces on a slice for a single point each, but then you don't count that slice at the end, and trying to avoid having to pick up any slices with anchovies (-1 point each), and you have a game that is simple on the surface, but offers deep complexity beneath.

Title: Theme is tied into everything!
Review: New York Slice is a two to six player set collection game that is centered around the theme of pizza. The game last for 6 rounds and then players will score to see who has won.The setup requires the pizza slices to be mixed up and then divided into 6 stacks of 11 slices with a left over three returned to the box. The 14 "Today's special" tiles are shuffled before placing one on each of the 6 stacks with the rest returned to the box. The first player is anyone that has most recently won a game. The first player will be the slicer, and each subsequent player, will choose a stack of slices and its "special" tile. The "special" is read to all players, and then proceeding clockwise (or counterclockwise) they will flip over each slice to form a whole pizza. The slicer will divide the pizza into portions equal to the amount of players playing. The slices can be of any proportion and the special can be combined with slices are placed by itself. Then starting with the player to the left of the slicer, a player will choose what portion they wish to take. This action will continue with the next player as the slicer will have the last choice of whatever portion remains. When a player chooses a portion, or takes what is left, they must immediately decide if they will keep the slice or eat it (flip it face down) for the pepperoni (1 point per pepperoni). The slices of pizza have numbers that range from 3 to 11 with a few special slices. Each number represents how many slices of that type exists (ex:11 slices of pepperoni pizza) and that number is what the slice is worth at the end of the game. If players want to score the worth of the slice they must keep the slice face up and have the most of it. Tying with a player will grant zero points to each player for the pizza type.New York Slice is a great lite game that players can use to introduce players to board gaming, or just a filler for between games. It plays best with the max amount of players as choices become difficult to make, or guess, when it comes to keeping or eating pizza. It is a quick game as only six rounds will be played. The game is rich with the theme of pizza as the box for the game is like a pizza box, the rules are styled after a menu, and even the scoring pad looks like a pizza order. Highly recommended for individuals that want a large number player game or simply would like to play a fast and easy set collection game.

Title: Great Fun Game for Families
Review: Looking for a fun and easy game to play with your family? Then New York Slice is for you! This game uses the âI split you chooseâ method of game play which makes for fun and exciting splits of the pizza. Easy to learn scoring makes it loads of fun for all ages. Plus the pieces are made of super thick cardboard which means longevity of the game pieces for tons of replayability. Finally, the theme is great and the pizza artwork is so delicious looking youâll order a pie as you play! This one is a winner.

Title: art is a fail. game still plays well - but hey, the original was a good game already
Review: this is the reprint of piece o' cake. Honestly, I like piece o' cake better. I think they could have done better on the reprint. the graphics look a bit pixelized and not clear. some color and differentiation issues between a couple of pieces. I like game play, so it's not all bad. But honestly, I feel their reprint made the game worse, not better. just not as good looking as it was, and art matters in boardgames. when you look over all the pieces side by side, you will notice how they failed. It would not have been hard at all to tweak the art and make it better.

Title: Great Game! Lots of Fun!
Review: First, I love the design for this game. Making the box look like a pizza box and having a scorepad look like a guest check pad was a great sell for the game. The box itself is quite heavy. The pieces/slices of the game are hard and sturdy. We've played it quite a few times and have had a lot of fun with it. My only problem is being able close the box once you take them out of their card board setting. Overall I highly recommend the game.

Review: If you enjoyed Sushi Go or Sushi Go Party, you'll enjoy this game. We play it with our teenagers and they always want to play it again! I just adore that the box is like a pizza take-out box and the instructions are like a menu. The one bad thing about this game is that the lid may not stay closed if you like to keep your games stacked like books on a shelf, but, an elastic band may help. (We just keep ours horizontal to avoid spills!)

Review: This game is so simple, and so fun. You have to watch carefully what everyone else is collecting, and what slices are being eaten, so interaction is high. Every decision in the game is interesting and delicious. Components are very high quality, and it looks great on the table.
