NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • 80 stir-fried-saucy, sweet-and-tangy mostly Thai-ish recipes from the mom who taught Chrissy (almost) everything she knows, Pepper Teigen!
IACP AWARD FINALIST • ONE OF THE BEST COOKBOOKS OF THE YEAR: Time Out, Food52
Whether she’s frying up a batch of her crispy-garlicky wings for John’s football Sundays or making Chrissy her favorite afternoon snack—instant ramen noodles with ground pork, cabbage, scallions, and cilantro—Pepper Teigen loves feeding her famously fabulous family. Through these eighty recipes, Pepper teaches you how to make all her hits. You’ll find playful twists on Thai classics, such as Fried Chicken Larb, which is all crunch with lots of lime, chile, and fish sauce, and Pad Thai Brussels Sprouts, which bring the fun tastes and textures of pad thai to a healthy sheet of pan-roasted vegetables. And there are the traditional dishes Pepper grew up with, like khao tod crispy rice salad and tom zapp hot and sour soup.
Pepper shares stories about her life, too, such as how she used to sell sweet-savory kanom krok coconut-and-corn pancakes to commuters when she was ten years old in Thailand (now she makes them with her granddaughter, Luna, as a treat) and how, once she moved to the United States, she would cobble together tastes of home with ingredients she could find in her new homeland, like turning shredded cabbage and carrots into a mock-papaya salad. Influenced by Thailand, California, and everywhere in between, Pepper’s mouthwatering recipes and sharp sense of humor will satisfy anyone craving a taste of something sensational, whether that’s a peek into America’s most-talked- about family’s kitchen or a rich and spicy spoonful of Massaman Beef Curry.

Title: Great cookbook with great selection of recipes.
Review: I'm anxious to use the cookbook. When I was abroad my daughter had the cookbook and I made the Hot Basil Eggplant. The recipe was easy to follow and the result was a smashing hit with my family.

Title: Great cookbook!!
Review: This is a fantastic cookbook. I'm cooking my way through the book and I've only made 3 dishes and they have all been delicious. I love her twist on these Thai dishes. As for the ding dong that wrote a review complaining about having to go all over the place to buy ingredients that she didn't have, buy a Paula Deen cookbook! If you only want to cook with whatever is in your pantry buy a plain old southern or basic American recipe cookbook. Don't buy a book with foreign recipes. For the record, the ingredients are readily available, maybe not if you live in a small community but i live in a small town of 70k and i was able to find most things at Walmart. The only thing i had to order off of Amazon was the massaman curry and it was well worth it! I am making all the beef dishes since my spouse is an avid hunter and we have a lot of elk in our freezer. I am obviously substituting the beef for elk. I just made the beef broccoli with elk chuck roast because it's all i had and that is the tastiest beef broccoli i have ever had! Looking forward to making the rest of the dishes. If you like to experience different foods and cultures, do not pass up this book. Buy it!

Title: Very nice book
Review: I am impressed with this book. I just received it and first thing I noticed is that itâs in a nice hard cover and a nice size. Almost every recipe has a photo. The ingredients in the recipes appear to be items found in a regular grocery store. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in Thai cooking.

Title: Fun Book With Tasty Recipes
Review: My friend and I started our own little cookbook club about a year ago in which we pick a book for the month and each of us makes at least 15 recipes from the book. Having cooked through both of Chrissy Teigen's cookbooks, we wanted to give her mom's a try, too. Before I bought the book, I checked here for reviews and found many glowing reviews that seemed to be based on "looking" at the book, not cooking through the book. I bought the book anyway, determined to post a review after having actually used the book.If you're looking for a Thai cookbook to recreate favorites from your local Thai restaurant, you might be disappointed. In my opinion, this is a little more of a "Thai fusion" cookbook. If you're like me, you'll spend time gathering ingredients you've never heard of from an international grocery store, but that's part of the fun! Here's what I made:Thai Steak SaladSweet and Sour Stir-FryCrispy WingsEasy Wok-Fried GreensLarb Burgers (My favorite from the book...one of the best burgers I've ever had!)Spicy Melon Basil SaladNam Prik Moo Sloppy JoesPad KoratPad Thai Brussels SproutsPineapple Soft Serve with Spicy Candied CoconutTraditional Sticky RiceRoasted Chile Powder (This is HOT!)Soy-Garlic Pepper SteakMy Famous Spring RollsVeggie Summer RollsThai Glazed RibsAll of the dishes turned out well, and the recipes are easy to follow. This is a great cookbook that I will return to again. 5 stars for flavor, but ultimately I'm giving 4 stars for the extra time spent in shopping/finding ingredients.

Title: Really great recipes!
Review: I ordered this book, based on an article in a magazine. Itâs a great book! After a trip to my local H Mart to get ingredients, I made a delicious Asian meal! The satay was so good, and the peanut sauce was the best I have ever had. The beef and broccoli was simple to make and very good. Loved the cucumber salad also. As someone who loves cookbooks, I highly recommend this book.

Title: Picture for every recipe. Looks good.
Review: Saw this at Target, but itâs cheaper here. I had a chance to glanced at the book, and it has many things that I would like to try to make.. I really donât care for Chrissy Teigan bizarre commentaries (nor am I a fan), and I donât know much about her mom, Pepper. But I do love her products and her cookbook, and her momâs cookbook looks legit as well. I didnât see anything irrelevant to cooking in any of the cookbooks including hers or her mom, which is why I am ok with their cookbooks. That being said, Pepperâs book has a picture for every recipe. Thatâs an A+ in my book. As for recipes- idk. I will update when I try them sometime soon...

Title: 50/50! Not Authentic Thai recipes!
Review: I had mixed feelings over this cookbook. I have Chrissy Teigenâs cookbooks and she included a section called âThai Momâ which I loved. This cookbook included some of those recipes. Pepper Thai improvises and uses other American ingredients to substitute for Thai ingredients you canât find at your local grocery store. Itâs an easy cookbook to follow. She mentions Chrissy Teigen in 90% of her recipes which got really annoying... I almost felt that Chrissy herself was writing the story behind every recipe because the same humor is used in this cookbook just like in her previous two cookbooks - OR the same food writer is behind it. I only made the Pad See Ew which was really good. Try the free recipes first and see for yourself. Recipes are not authentic Thai... i would call them Americanized Thai recipes due to so many substitutions. Just be warned that Chrissy will be mentioned in every recipe! ð¤¦ð»ââï¸ Needless to say, I ended up returning the book.

Review: The recipes are delicious and fairly easy to follow. Most of them use the same base ingredients so once youâve bought those, you can make many different recipes. The photography is nice and I enjoyed Pepperâs stories with each recipe. Weâve made more recipes from this book than either of the Cravings books (which I also like!). Highly recommend for a basic intro to cooking Thai food.
