Title: Humor, romance, and hope- wonderful!
Review: I loved this story about two people, Paris de Norville and Jemma Scott Hage, who had each lived a life with a partner they loved. They’d each had children, raised them, and now were both widowed. Their families were bonded together through the marriages of their children and other relatives. They weren’t young, or new to love, as are so many of the main characters in romance novels. But neither was so far removed in time from that first love that they couldn’t recognize the pleasure and excitement of a new one.They also had years of a love hate relationship that had members of both their families shaking their heads, and more often, running for cover. With the help of a friend to both of them, the two become convinced to forgo the loneliness that often comes with widowhood and age, and take a chance, a second chance for each, on love.This is a wonderful story, with unique characters, humor, (plenty of humor), and romance. While reading it I repeatedly found myself laughing aloud. I also felt the hope the two had that they could possibly make a life together, and not spend their last years alone or lonely. The characters were introduced in an earlier work by this author, The Wolfe, which is also terrific. Although it’s a stand-alone, and it’s not necessary to read the earlier book to understand it, this makes me want to reread the earlier novel all over again. It’s a thoroughly entertaining read, which I highly recommend.

Title: Sigh Worthy!!!
Review: This is such a beautiful story. It is about two people who are first introduced in Kathryn Le Veque's epic masterpiece "The Wolfe." In "The Wolfe" they are young and full of life. Jemma is a feisty, hot tempered Scot and Paris is a handsome, vain, brilliant and powerful knight. From almost the first moment on their meeting, they are at each others throats. Paris is constantly provoking Jemma and becomes the spark that ignites Jemma's hot temper, and not in a good way. He calls Jemma "the banshee" and she responds calling him a "Sassenach." You get the picture here. They each find love with others and have happy lives with their respective spouses. But, at the time of this book, they have each lost their loves, are in their golden years and are alone and lonely. Neither of them even think about seeking new relationships because they consider themselves too old. However, one of their close concerned common friends considers the impossible and steps in to bring these two stubborn, contrary people together. What evolves is a humorous, touching and charming love story between two mature people who realize they still have more love to give and it is never too late to share their lives and find fulfillment and happiness with another. It is a heartwarming, lovely story and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Paris and Jemma come full circle in their saga. Definitely sigh worthy! I will certainly be reading this one again. 🙂

Title: Silver Fox Medieval Love!
Review: For me, this is worth much more than 5 stars! A silver fox medieval romance that was so touching.Paris and Jemma's story was really heartfelt. They are both widowed and have known each other for over 50 years. If you have read The Wolfe by this author then you would have met these two characters before. You would also know the type of relationship these two secondary characters had. Neither one could stand the other. Fireworks always ensued between the two, but now in this story they are both widowed and still trying to live. We also get to visit with William, Jordan, Paris and Jemma's families.There were moments that had me so sad, but then there were two chapters that had me laughing out loud throughout them. Not a sentence, but the whole 2 chapters had me laughing by myself. And for me a story that can allow me to feel different emotions throughout is a great story. This is a short holiday story, which I loved. The epilogue also had me reaching for Kleenex.I want to believe that our loved ones in heaven, help those who they love and leave behind. I believe Kieran guided this author to write this story for the people he cared about, loved and left behind.Bravo to this author for writing such a great short story. It was powerful, emotional amazing and I highly recommend it.

Title: Much older couple finally find love
Review: As family watch Jemma Hage in the garden at Castle Questing, they are worried about her. Jemma has never gotten over the death of her husband Kieran. The family comes up with a great idea to find Jemma a companion which isn’t an easy thing. While at Northwood Castle Paris de Norville also grieves deeply for his deceased wife, Caladora. Paris decides to do something drastic but instead Paris’s best friend and family save him. His best friend’s wife comes up with a brilliant plan to put Paris and Jemma together even though the past animosity between the two is pretty strong. Still maybe both Paris and Jemma can find some consolation and company together. When Paris and Jemma see each other will they be able to forget the hostility they always had for each other or find love instead?What a wonderful continuation of two much loved characters from The Wolfe. Yes, it’s a novella but it’s short and sweet despite it being an enemy to lover’s story. It’s an old one but so much fun to see two older people find love. The book is nicely written with much complications and plot twists managing to work out all in the end. Unfortunately, it might help to read The Wolfe to understand the animosity between the two but still works if one hasn’t read it or reads it as a standalone. Jemma the feisty heroine is still a spitfire and loves everyone deeply even finding her heart with Paris. While Paris the tough yet sensitive hero has tough times but manages to open himself up to Jemma. The book was well worth the read especially since the characters are much older and there aren’t too many stories like it. Of course the lovely characters and a continuation of The Wolfe is also a big factor too!

Review: Kathryn Le Veque has written a beautifully endearing book that is full of humour, emotion, love and reality.When Paris de Norville is as low as one can possibly be, feeling lonely and not needed, his best friend William de Wolfe's wife Jordan steps in to help with a cunning plan.Paris has lost his wife Caladora and Jemma has lost her beloved husband Kieran Hage and she too feels the despair of loneliness, so putting them together seems the best solution, even though they have a history.But of course, as will all families, as children reach adulthood, they too have opinions about what their parents should or should not be doing.And so this very clever, romantic and poignant story of two older people finding love yet again begins.One minute you will be laughing out loud, the next you will be reaching for a tissue.Hope springs eternal in this delightfully poignant and gentle love story.I absolutely loved it!

Review: Kathryn Le Veque can be very funny indeed, more so because she writes in a deadpan manner. This small novel starts with near tragedy but ends with hilarious family scenes. It’s about a widow and widower who have been part of the same extended family for 50 years, but are now lonely without their partners. The humour comes from family members especially their sons who are outraged that their parents would consider a second marriage.This is a stand alone novel, but if you have read the de Wolfe series you will really enjoy the return of favourite characters all bickering with each other in a very relatable way. The author has developed these characters so well that when she brings them together in an entirely new context, she makes it work. While mostly light hearted, there are some poignant moments as the author delves into old age and loneliness. This is a really satisfying short novel.

Review: This story is brave, poignant and sweet. Have noticed in many of the historical novels, that it's either the widower grieving for the lost wife in the drink or the widow looking after the young grandchildren.KLV recognises that a once-great warrior is finding it extremely hard without his beloved wife and feeling useless as his magnificent sons and grandsons have taken over as prime warriors with their own families and senior military positions.Paris de Norville is grieving deeply and so is the once fierce and mouthy Jemma Hage who has also lost her beloved husband Keiran.Grief takes different forms but paramount is loneliness when the other half in your life of many years is no longer physically there and your own physical body ages.KLV focuses on the loneliness of the couple and uses William and Jordon to push them together to "keep each other company", at a time when the elderly did not remarry unless it was for wealth. After all, Jemma is no longer of childbearing age.But historically this couple were initially adversaries/friends and have known each other for years, so why not? The church and their children may be baffled and reluctant, but for 21c readers it makes sense. Readers so critical/mocking of this novella really need to understand Grief, Loneliness and the 12c church.Highly recommend this little story.
