Devotions for 9-12 year olds in Mark's Gospel to help them to read the Bible and pray every day.

When was the last time you heard some really incredible news that you couldn't wait to share? The Gospel of Mark is that kind of good news! It’s a life-changing announcement about who Jesus is, and what he’s done.

Best News Ever is a devotional that takes tweens aged 9-12 on a 100-day journey through Mark's fast-paced, action-packed story―helping them to understand the confusing bits, showing them how it connects with their life, and bringing them face to face with Jesus: the one who changes everything.

Each day's devotional includes:
• A passage to read ― work through the whole of Mark's Gospel in bite-sized chunks
• A short explanation ― guiding you though the confusing bits and showing what it means for you
• A question to reflect on ― so that you can slow down and think through what you've read
• A prayer to pray ― to help you respond to what God has said

Written in a pithy and engaging style, Best News Ever will help young people of all backgrounds to read the Bible for themselves, whether they know a little or a lot about Jesus already. It is also ideal to use as a family devotional.

Title: Amazing devotional
Review: Our family loves this devotional and I get just as much material for reflection from reading it. I love that it incorporates actual Bible reading into the devotion and moves though the book of Mark.

Title: Catchy, fun & doctrinally on-point
Review: This book was a great read-aloud for family devotions around the breakfast table. The chapters start with a Bible passage to read from the book of Mark, and then a discussion, thoughtful question & closing prayer. Each chapter takes under 10 minutes, so we found it just right for starting the day in God's Word as the kids are getting ready to head out the door to school. Plus, author Chris Morphew's style is PERFECT for reading aloud—catchy, fun and doctrinally on-point.

Title: Loved it and so did the kids
Review: Have you ever gotten to the last couple of pages of your study and mourned the fact that you were done and you had no idea what to go to next that would have the same quality and enthusiasm? That is where I find myself today. I'm shocked there there aren't many reviews. I was lucky enough to have another homeschool mama suggest this and it did not disappoint.

Review: Our family with 4 boys ages: 3,6,9 &11, is enjoying this devotional so much. We read it at the dinner table after we finish eating to close our meal together. While the 3 year old does bounce around as toddlers do, the way Chris Morphew writes engages the 6-11 year old so well. Even parents/adults will honestly glean so much from the readings. Each day focuses on 1-5 verses from Mark, with a simple message or explanation of that passage. I would say it takes about 5-8 minutes, depending on whether there is family discussion. If you’re worried it’s too simple- it’s really not. While it is short- it’s fresh and offers new and deep truths to reflect on every time. Never dry or boring. After the reading there are some very brief questions written in italics for personal thought or perhaps a discussion aloud, as sometimes happens in our home. And finally, there is a short prayer at the end relating to the topic/verses of the day. These are also a lovely inclusion. They are written in first person for personal devotions, so we switch all the I/me’s to us/we’s. No problem, very easy to read aloud. If you’re thinking of buying this for your son or daughter’s personal devotions, I feel 8-13 would be a great age as we do clarify some things for our 6 year old while we read aloud. But it is printed and written in a very easy to use, very straightforward way for kids. It would also be an excellent fit for new Christians. We are a bit choosy on devotionals as many parents are, you want to teach and engage your children but also don’t want something overly shallow nor overly deep- while always remaining faithful to scripture. This one is a perfect fit. On behalf of our family, thank you Chris!! Would love to see a continuation of the ‘100 days guides’ of other books of the Bible. : )

Review: Perfect choice for Junior School age kids who are thinking about Christianity and what it will mean to them. Also good to read when they first become a Christian - fills in a lot of the blanks in very simple language..

Review: This book is fantastic. we use it for quick family devotional times before school, but as a vicar I'm mighty impressed by the depth that the author goes into and his excellent knowledge, and succinct explanations of Mark's gospel. It's the kind of Bible handling I want my kids to get used to. The reflections are so good that I could use many of them as outlines for sermons or short talks. Excellent resource

Review: My family love this book. We use it after dinner most days. It's faithful to the Bible and easy to use when you're feeling tired at the end of the day. After reading a few verses from the Bible you read a little bit from the book, answer a couple of simple questions and read the prayer at the end. It's great!
