Title: Sensational recipes
Review: The recipes in this book are wonderful. Sophisticated and a delight to make. Well written and with splendid photographs of the finished dish. It's a pleasure to use. I am adding quite a few of these delights to my repertoire. If you like pie in its many forms you won't be disappointed.

Title: very sophisticated
Review: this book overall is a extremely informative with different pie crust recipes and pairing of wines. some of the recipies are very sophisticated and over the top with ingredients i would probably use one time or never. in my opinion, this is not a book for beginners. In each recipe you are given a picture and a list of the ingredients, however, the instructions are written in running text, like you would read pages in a book. this is the one feature of this book that i thought was terrible !

Title: A really good book for savory pies, but making mini pies requires the adjustment of ingredient quantites.
Review: This book has a lot of good ideas for savory pie, which is what I wanted, but many are for full sized pies. My purpose in buying the book was for ideas for making mini pies with an electric mini pie maker. This means that I usually have to figure out how much of each ingredient I need to make however many mini pies I want to make.I gave the book a 5 star rating because the recipes are really good and savory pies are the focus rather than including sweet pies. The problem of adjusting recipes for a mini pie maker is really something I have to deal with. It does not at all take away from the quality of the recipes included in this book.

Title: Not comfort food
Review: When i purchased this book it was a pre-order, basically sight unseen and without any reviews. I agree with some of the new reviews. The book is well written and has some beautiful photos. However, the book is not what i was hoping for. I bought the book because i thought it was going to include many recipes for hand pies, empanadas, pasties and meat pies. I was looking for hand held comfort foods and street foods. If that is what you are looking for this book is not for you. There are a few recipes in the book that would fit what i was expecting, but most of the recipes in this book are better suited as fancy appetizers at a dinner party or brunch.

Title: Pie in the Sky
Review: Great recipes that appear to work. Some of the photographs seem to perfect and obviously the pies have not been made in a kitchen similar to mine, nor be someone of my beginner skill level. I have enjoyed and eaten several recipes and look forward to some more in the near future.

Title: Great book with great photographs
Review: Easy to follow instructions. Really well organized. I particularly liked the vibrant color photographs throughout the book and the helpful notes added to the end of some of the recipes. For example, it mentions choosing sustainable seafood and the "best choice". That's a nice addition that you don't typically find in most cookbooks. My fiance was particularly excited about me ordering this book, in fact, when he saw the cover of the book on my screen he said "... Those look really good. Please make stuff like that."Highly recommend this for anyone's bookshelf.

Title: Savory Pies
Review: I love pies and thought this would be a good addition to my cookbook collection and it is. There are delicious "main dish" pies in this book. They also are great for taking to pot lucks.

Title:
Review: What an utterly fantastic book. I personally love filled pastries, be they filled with savoury or sweet concoctions. My only gripe is that the book isn't long enough! I wish it had more dishes from the Middle East, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Asia, etc. I do realize that being exhaustive is probably impossible, but a lover of filled pies can dream.I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone who's ever loved a calzone or anything resembling one. There's something simple and humble and yet decadent about filled pastries that overjoys me. And done right one can make them suitable to anyone's diet, which is wonderful in and of itself.
