Title: DELISH!
Review: Got my copy of Frostings a week or so ago and the day I recieved it I was in heaven. I love cake... but what really makes the cake is the frosting on top. And this book doesn't disappoint. I made the peanut butter frosting today and have to say it's pretty delicious. What I love about the book, aside from the amazing photography, is that it's simple. So many baking books are geared towards semi-professional bakers (weighted measurements, obscure ingredients, so many steps - who has time?!?!). This has simple to use directions and measurements and every day ingredients. Take a box cake mix and make something special in no time!

Title: Frosting recipes are delicious and simple
Review: This is a small book of simple yet delicious frosting recipes. The images are beautiful, but just for looking. There are not tips on decorating or general frosting advice/history. Just know this up front and you'll love this book. Straight recipes for frosting all in one place.

Title: Your go to sweet source!
Review: I am a long time fan of Courtney's blog Pizzazzerie and have all her other books but this is one is my favorite! I am not a very skilled baker by any means but Courtney has the ability, through her fun recipes to make you feel like you are. The charm for me behind this book is that you can take a regular box cake mix and from the recipes in the book, whip up such a fabulous dessert topping your guests would never know. The photography alone is exquisite and worth just purchasing the book for. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a dessert cookbook and I believe it will truly become your go to source for all things sweet. I can't wait to see what Courtney cooks up next!

Title: Beautiful, but lacking.
Review: I admit, I was so excited when I saw this book pop up for pre-order on Amazon. I do love Courtney's website. Unfortunately, the end result sort of underwhelms me.When I read a post concerning this book on the author's website, she specifically said that this book was just as much about creative ways to style and serve food as it was about frostings. And indeed, the photos are absolutely GORGEOUS. However, if you're planning on actually learning the tips and tricks she used to make the beautiful desserts in this book, you will be disappointed. There are none. All you truly get are the frosting recipes....and a tiny box called "Garnish It!', which has some extremely basic ideas, like "add chopped nuts."Perhaps this is my own fault for assuming, but when I read the comments for this book, I expected to have frosting recipes, as well as tips for how to incorporate them into desserts and how to style them to look like the photos. It seems an awful tease to have a photo of a luscious cupcake piled high with hot pink frosting and chocolate glaze, in a beautiful wrapper, but the recipe is ONLY for the glaze!Maybe we will get lucky and the author will include some real step-by-step instructions on her site. Until then, I will use the frostings on my own desserts (the ones I've tried have been tasty, so at least there's that) and sigh longingly over the photos. If real food styling instructions had been included, with recipes for desserts to use the frostings on, this would have easily been five stars from me.

Title: A must have for bakers!
Review: "Frostings" is an incredible cookbook, one of those "why didn't someone think of this sooner?" type of books. Well thankfully, Courtney Dial Whitmore did! Frosting really is one of those magical things, it can take a simple box cake mix from drab to completely fab, and the recipes in this book will do just that and more. From Salted Caramel to Browned Butter To Cookies & Cream to Key Lime Pie, this cookbook is packed full of frosting recipes that everyone will love. Even the most experienced baker can add some new recipes to their collection and new bakers can create delicious frosting with confidence and ease. A must have for bakers and anyone who enjoys the sweeter things in life.

Review: As the name of the book suggests, a big book of frostings. Be aware it is an American book so you need American cup measures or a good conversion. One thing that might be useful that was missing is some idea of how many cakes the quantity produced would cover. Most receipes seemed to make 4 1/2 cups which seems like a lot but I have no frame of reference for how much cake that would cover.
