Title: I bought this book and hoped it would be useful and what I got was so much more
Review: This was definitely an inside book into a teens mind! I bought this book and hoped it would be useful and what I got was so much more. I needed a book to help me connect with younger brother who by all means is self diagnosed with anxiety and panic. Man this booked wasn't just helpful for me but I gave it to him to read as well and it was an amazing book to share between the two of us. It really gave us the opportunity to connect, try some of the excercises and not just have a better opportunity to fix him but really fix our relationship with each other. This book forever bonded us! We had a fun time coming up with a panic plan. I can't believe we didn't come up with one of these before! What was neat about this is we created a panic plan for him but also one for me so that I don't get all worked up worrying about him getting worked up. This book was eye opening and brought a lot of self awareness to both of us. The information is easy to understand, practical and the perfect solution to help anxious teens AND their loved ones - whomever that may be - teachers, relatives, siblings, parents etc. I have seen my brother adopt a more better understanding of himself which is the biggest step I've seen in a while. GREAT BOOK!! HIghly recommend.

Title: In response to negative reviewer re.: chapter 2...
Review: The second chapter is advising teens to be selective about who and what to tell and to be prepared for the fact that people in their life may not understand or accept the fact that they have some issues...this is part of the real world! My daughter has anxiety and one of the biggest issues plaguing her and her similar peer group/acquaintances/friends (as pointed out in the chapter) is ignorance! Teens need to be prepared for the fact that many people will not accept or understand or are afraid of what is maybe seen as a weakness...my daughter has discovered who her true friends are and has learned to be strong in defense of herselfâthat is huge because the real world society wonât tiptoe around just to make you feel better! I do feel this book might be more beneficial for females than males, as it is more apropos for what preteen/teen females experience in a group &/or social dynamic. This book is an excellent, honest and very resourceful book for most teens with anxiety...I donât want parents & teens who can benefit from this book to flat out throw it away because someone is offended by the truth.

Title: Lots of CBT
Review: This book takes a CBT approach to managing a child's anxiety. While I dont solely use CBT in my practice many of the techniques and charts provided can be useful for teens and their families. I also enjoyed the wording that the author uses, it was simple enough for a young reader to understand.

Title: If you ever feel slightly anxious, pick up this book.
Review: This book is categorized for 12-18 year olds, but it's so well laid out and detailed that it could very easily be a book for adults. One thing I really liked is how the authors talked about how responsible we are for  others in different situations. They're are multiple factors that can be broken down into an "accountability pizza." More often than not, we can see that our  actions play a very small role  in how peers /others respond in a given situation. There are so many helpful tools in this book that can really help the reader take charge of their life. I would sugggest using the panic, wellness, and health plans listed in the book to help indentify and tackle anxiety and the causes of it.

Title: My favorite book for teen anxiety
Review: As an adolescent therapist, I own most of the books out there on anxiety and teens. This has become my favorite. I like how it packages CBT skills in a way that teens can relate to. For instance, "anxiety tracks" are like the tracks on a playlist and you learn skills to "remix" those tracks. Think of panic attacks like being pulled by a Riptide and you develop Floating Skills so as not to fight the current. I've developed worksheets based on the content as well as typed up the worksheets in the book. Would be nice if the author/publisher would provide access to these forms via PDF or separate workbook.

Title: Important topic, not enough covered
Review: I read this book and had my teen (diagnosed with anxiety) read it, with hopes that we could discuss it together. Although I believe the book addressed a few very important topics, it felt superficial. It certainly did not engage my teenager. However, itâs important for me to say that I realize each teen is different so what doesnât work for me, may work for you. I simply felt it was not engaging.

Title: ... is the fact that all of the information is easy to understand and it offers practical steps to help ...
Review: One of the major perks of this book is the fact that all of the information is easy to understand and it offers practical steps to help someone reduce the amount of anxiety they feel. Sitting around 180 pages of content the authors pack a lot of information in a small amount of space with illustrations that make the book approachable for any person and age group. Another important aspect of this book is that even though I do not suffer from anxiety, many of my friends do. I found this to be a great resource for not only understanding my friends but also helping my friends through their anxiety.
