2018 Reprint of 1919 Edition. Nikola Tesla (1856–1943) was a prophet of the electronic age. His research laid much of the groundwork for modern electrical and communication systems, and his impressive accomplishments include development of the alternating-current electrical system, radio, the Tesla coil transformer, wireless transmission, and fluorescent lighting. Tesla's research was so groundbreaking that many of his contemporaries failed to understand it, and other scientists are unjustly credited for his innovations. The visionary scientist speaks for himself in this volume, originally published in 1919 as a six-part series in Electrical Experimenter magazine. Tesla recounts his boyhood in Croatia, his schooling and work in Europe, his collaboration with Thomas Edison, and his subsequent research. Written with wit and élan, this memoir offers fascinating insights into one of the great minds of modern science. Chapters include: My Early Life; My First Efforts In Inventions; My Later Endeavors: The Discovery of the Rotating Magnetic Field and The Discovery of the Tesla Coil and Transformer; The Magnifying Transmitter; The Art of Telautomatics.

Title: A Spark of Inspiration
Review: A great read for getting into reading, easy to process. You get a full course of Nikola Tesla, his inventions and his view of the world. Nikola literally predicts the internet, war drones, bluetooth and a real source of continous energy almost 100 years before it came to be!

Title: Interesting and Useful Book!
Review: This book is a rather quick read. It is written by the infamous Nikola Tesla. He was obviously a genius, but it also struck me that he was also a rather humble man as well. It seemed to me that someone like Nikola Tesla would be the ideal older brother because he was kind AND brilliant at the same time.I recommend this book to everyone who is either an engineer or is married to an engineer. It somewhat gives you a peak into the soul of a brilliant genius. I'm very glad I read this book and will no doubt read it again from time to time. (By the way, I am a female engineer and I worked with many male engineers over the years.) In general, engineers are a misunderstood group of people who have far more compassion and empathy than people realize. If you live with or are related to an engineer, I suggest that you read this book.

Title: Interesting book
Review: It's no doubt a very hard book to read for a reader like myself who has very less technical knowledge in this area. Nevertheless, this book has a lot of instances which everybody can understand and relate too. So it's a mix of very technical stuff plus some generic knowhow.

Title: Good quality book, and interesting content
Review: This was a gift for my husband. The book is a well made hardback, and he's enjoyed the read. I bought an autobiography along with a biography for him to read at the same time. He felt that was the most accurate way to read between the lines. This had to be ordered, but it was worth the wait.

Review: A short book, shorter than I expected, but nevertheless brilliant, just as inspirational but I guess he was a busy bloke! Visions, sleepless nights, stimulants, gambling and mental health problems from the first chapter! Iâve got the physical book also, and I couldnât put it down! A tragic unappreciated genius, ahead of his time, some of his visions are still being developed today! Of course, I am finishing off the book by listening on audible while my phone charges up on a wireless charger one of his many visions, which I thought was quite ironic / apt.
